About this property

One of a Kind-Get Away/Big Cypress Bayou Near Jefferson&Caddo

One of a kind retreat for small families, a romantic get away for two, or fishing/hunting lodge.

This property is built over Big Cypress Bayou river which is 3.3 miles from CADDO Lake, 10 minutes from Historic Jefferson, 20 minutes from old money oil town of Marshall, AND 30 minutes from the wide awake Casino town of Shreveport, LA.

The River House is on a private road which lends to peace and tranquility. Great access to the river for amazing water skiing, jet skiing, and boating awaits. If you're not into water sports, fish all day right off the covered deck. If you have a boat, there is a ramp within 100 yards of the house, and lots of great little fishing holes along the river and back into the cypress forest.

The River House has an outdoor grill. A bonfire is always fun in the cooler months, so sit back relax and enjoy the blaze in the fire pit steps from the house.

The River house is within 10 miles by boat or car to 8,000 acres of public hunting land: deer, squirrel, hog, duck, turkey, and alligator to name a few. You must have a TX hunting license and Type 2 permit. Also, be prepared to follow all TX game and wildlife laws for Marion and Harrison County.

We promise you will not be disappointed with the discovery of this off the beaten path cabin of solitude and good times!

Peaceful waterfront living
Property is just as described. The porch over the water is serene. Fish weren't biting, the area is slightly flooded, but a very relaxing getaway. The bed is comfortable. Everything you need for cooking is available, just bring your groceries and don't forget the coffee. The town of Jefferson is nearby with nice restaurants and plenty of antique shops.

Always Relaxing
We are regulars at the Riverhouse. When we just need time together in quietness, nature, resting, this is our first go-to place. We love it and will continue to return.

Perfect Getaway
If you are looking for a quiet place to disconnect from life and reconnect with nature, this is the PERFECT place!! From the very beginning, Randy and Coach made us truly feel that we were in our very own home away from home! It was so nice staying in such a beautiful quiet place on the water and also being so close to historic Jefferson (a must see) as well as Caddo Lake! I cannot recommend this place enough, we can’t wait to be back!!

Anniversary getaway
We are Texans & this was our 1st time visiting NE Texas & let me tell you it is beautiful up there!! We absolutely loved the cabin, it was perfect for us! Coach was super sweet & a wealth of knowledge about everything from fishing to local attractions. The weather wasn’t good, it was cold & rainy & the bayou was flooding so fishing wasn’t the best but we were able to fish off our covered porch & left with a couple keepers & threw a few back so it was all good! The back porch is heaven…even though it was cold & rainy I was still able to curl up on the couch & watch the rain while remaining dry….I lived out there & had it been warmer, I might have slept out there too. It is also huge & offers many different areas to fish. Inside, the bed was comfy & I’m picky about mattresses….I slept like a baby. The kitchen was updated & well designed. They have all the necessities, we cooked there instead of going out, it was so cozy I had no desire to go anywhere else. The view even beat out antiquing. It’s off the beaten path, but is close to everything. We will definitely be back!

We have two children from my husband's first marriage and enjoy spending not only family time at the cabin, but also time alone. We hope you will enjoy the place. Anyone who spends time with us at the River wants to return. We hope you will too!!

Why they chose this property

We enjoy water sports. We enjoy fishing. We enjoy relaxing. This is a perfect spot for unwinding from the daily grind. It is easy access to Jefferson and to Shreveport if we want to pick up the pace a little. We can take our boat into Jefferson and park at the riverbank and shop and eat! Too many great reasons to list.

What makes this property unique

We enjoy taking a boat ride into Jefferson for breakfast on Sundays. We enjoy the secluded area we live in. We have a boating ramp that is within 100 yards of our home, so we have a great time on the water. We can fish right off of our deck because the cabin was built on the riverbank and much, much more.
