Perched high on a finger ridge of the Eastern Continental Divide, in a gorgeous pristene area of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Kilkelly's luxurious CABIN provides amazing long-range views, fully comparable to those seen from nearby Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks. In this unique 22-acre setting, you are surrounded by tall mountains and deep valleys, while privately nestled among flowers and gardens. Privacy was key in locating the CABIN. It is several hundred yards down the ridge from the Main House, out of sight and sound. And there are no other buildings or dwellings within sight or sound.

The remarkable long-range and layered views from the CABIN are seen from a high and vaulted prospective, extending over 100 miles across natural, undisturbed woodlands and fields! Sunrises and sunsets are varied and magnificent. It's also a perfect place to experience dramatic weather changes and cloud formations -- above you and below! And at night, it's a star gazer's dream! With no city lights, the stars are bright and plentiful (we furnish binoculars). And there are no highways nearby, or traffic noise to interfere with orchestral sounds of nature. And WOW, we have NO MOSQUITOES! Kind of a mountain paradise.

The CABIN itself is a custom 1600 SF, upscale cedar log home. It has two King bedroom suites, two pull-out sofas, two full baths, a fully appointed and stocked kitchen, a large gas grill, comfortable dining for six (inside and out), fine living room couches and swivel-rocker chairs, and a stone gas fireplace. There is a small pantry, lots of cabinet space, a game room with an indoor shuffleboard, and four wide-screen HD TVs with DVRs and DVDs (one with 3D). On the outside is a covered front porch, and open deck wrap around to an elevated attached gazebo, a lower patio with lounge chairs, hammocks, and swings. We also have outdoor play areas and equipment for children and adults, including a 45-foot rope swing, a standard swing set, a regulation horse shoe pit, and a stone fire pit. And of course, many adjacent and nearby walking trails, streams, and cascades.

The Blue Ridge Parkway entrance at Bamboo Gap is only 1/3 mile from the CABIN, and Boone and Blowing Rock are just minutes away.
