Serine Oasis
Serine oasis just off the beaten path. Surrounded by nature and wildlife (Deer, Birds and Crickets). The perfect place to start the day and come back to after a day of wine touring and exploring the south okanagan. Highly recommended.

Beautiful landscape
We loved our two days in this gorgeous setting—flowering rabbitbrush, Ponderosa pines, rolling hills. The cabin is extremely comfortable. Linda was very responsive and accommodating and a great source of information. We will be back!

Get a break from your busy life.
Property: Truly unique. Situated off the beaten track, an opportunity to listen to the silence, escape the busy life and enjoy nature at your front door. If you are here for the wine - you can start tasting in 15 to 20 minutes drive. Hosts: Linda and Bruce went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Great detail to attention. They care. If you need entertainment: Bring a player with DVD's or download movies. The WiFi is limited. A good thing if you need time away from it all. Will stay here again.

Stay in wine country
We had a wonderful stay in the guest house at High Chapparal. We stayed with another couple(friends in our bubble) which was great fun. The location is what we all enjoyed the most, as the house is located on a ranch which is part of the Nature Conservancy so it beautiful and wild and very much a place for peace and quiet! The host, Linda, was easy to get hold of, and pleasant & helpful with any questions. We'll definitely be back!

About the host

Your Hosts: Linda and Bruce. After enjoying many trips to the Okanagan over the years, we purchased our 80 acre property and moved to Oliver in late 2007. 25 plus years working in the film industry in Vancouver prepared Linda to host our guests at High Chaparral Guest House. Bruce continues to commute, working on various film projects during the week. We live in a separate residence on the acreage with our house dog, Oliver.

Why they chose this property

High Chaparral is unique and unlike anything else offered in the area. The scent of ponderosa pine and wild sage enchant the senses while the breeze whispers through the trees. Our property is home to many species of birds, including quail, grouse, sage thrashers, bluebirds, hummingbirds, eagles, owls, hawks and vultures. In the Spring many beautiful wild flowers cover the surrounding hills. Ancient deer paths are present throughout the acreage, still used today by our resident deer and are an easy hike for our guests. Oliver is home to world class restaurants and over 30 award winning wineries. Relax while enjoying the quietude of our 80 acre property. Privacy is yours in a gorgeous setting. We are stewards of our land and have signed a covenant with Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society to maintain the wildlife habitat on our property.

What makes this property unique

While set in privacy of the pristine wilderness - we are only 10 minutes from Main St., Oliver. From High Chaparral Guest House you can visit over 30 wineries, 3 golf courses, many hiking/biking trails, 3 lakes, award winning restaurants, bicycle rental or horseback riding. After a day of wine tasting, you can return to the guest house, prepare your dinner and enjoy some of our local wines, while taking in the spectacular sunset on our wrap around deck. High Chaparral has two private suites, each with a separate entrance. A fully equipped kitchen is available for your use at no extra cost.
