Location and special feature:

It dates from the second half of the 19th century and lies hidden in an inner courtyard – the building which today houses holiday apartment Casa Carlo. Its characteristic cupola ceiling and extraordinary, typically regional architecture tell you at once that you are right in the heart of the Amalfi coast.

Great for cultural travelers: Vettica, which is part of the comune of Amalfi, is only about 2.5 km from the picturesque center of the former maritime republic and easily reached by bus. A bus stop is only 50 m off, so you do not really need a car during your holidays.

Another goody you can look forward to at Casa Carlo: the spacious roof terrace which opens upon an uninhibited view of the wide sea and the bizarre coastal formations. There is no reason to hesitate – spend your holidays in the southern Italian sun.
The holiday apartment:

Casa Carlo is a suitable holiday accommodation for a couple, but also perfectly suitable for a family of four. The apartment includes two bedrooms, a spacious living-dining room with kitchen and a bathroom with shower cabin, WC and bidet.


Upon entering Casa Carlo you find yourself in the dining area, from which you access the roof terrace. Part of the outdoor area is roofed with a kind of pergola. Simply relax in its shade and let the view of the sea "wash over" you. There is also a lovely outdoor dining 'area' with large wrought-iron table and chairs. Sun worshippers can relax on the loungers.

The kitchen of the holiday apartment is open, separated from the dining area only by a round arch. It is equipped with a gas stove and oven, a refrigerator with freezer compartment as well as a washing machine. The dining area is furnished with air conditioning.

The small living area with small sofa, wicker chairs and TV is separated from the dining area by a round arch, too.

The two bedrooms of Casa Carlo, a double and a twin, face the sea. When you get up in the morning, your gaze falls upon the deep blue of the sea. The twin bedroom even offers access of the terrace. The owner will readily provide a children’s cot for very young guests.

Parking, local public transport and accessibility:

Those who travel to the Amalfi coast by private or rental car may use the enclosed parking space across from Casa Carlo. It is available for a fee (see price list) and after prior reservation.
There is a bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the holiday apartment. SITA busses run regularly to Amalfi and Agerola. From the bus terminal at Amalfi, the coastal 'celebrities', for example Positano, Ravello and Sorrento, are easily and quickly reached. At the harbor of Amalfi, you find boats departing for Capri every day and, in summer, even for the Cilento (Agropoli).

The nearest train station is at Salerno (ca. 25 km).

Shopping and dining:

There is a supermarket about 500 m from Casa Carlo. A bar and restaurants are also nearby and partly within walking distance. It is a ca. 600 m walk via a stepped path to Ristorante Al Pesce d’Oro, for example.

Surroundings, excursions and beaches:

Casa Carlo is very conveniently located regarding excursions. Not only cultural travelers get their money’s worth when strolling through lively and colorful Amalfi or mundane Positano.
If you want to spend a day at the beach, you will find, at a distance of ca. 1 km, bays which sound as melodious as, for example, Lido degli Artisti or Santa Croce, the latter with famous Arco degli Innamorati – a rock arch formed by the sea and dedicated to those in love. Please mind, however, that in spite of this touch of romance, some of the beaches are accessible only on foot via stepped paths.

Another highlight of the Amalfi coast starts at nearby Agerola. High above the sea, Sentiero degli Dei – the Path of Gods – simply overwhelms hikers with its spectacular vistas. The round about 8 km path runs as far as Positano. Take the bus or the boat back to Amalfi and let the day fade away on the charming terrace of Casa Carlo savoring some iced limoncello.
