Rainbows End, part of the 9 unit Battery Hill Condominiums in Cruz Bay, situated on the hill near Gallows Point above Cruz Bay boasts beautiful views of the Pillsbury sound and Cruz Bay town. It is a very relaxing, private and affordable way to enjoy tropical living at its best. Beautifully maintained Battery Hill with lush landscaping is just a 5-10 minute stroll from downtown with a wide range of restaurant choices and shopping experience.

Rainbows End's most unique feature in this complex is the amazing large L-shaped deck and covered porch featuring a dining area and lounge area with cooling ocean breezes and a sunning deck. The sun deck opens to the master bedroom through french doors with beautiful views. This unit is very private and lush but just steps away from the sunny pool area with amazing harbor and ocean views. Conveniently located gas grill and newly installed laundry for your use.

2 queen bedrooms plus twin bed in blue bedroom (update for Fall 2018- 1 queen and 2 twins that can be turned into a king) and 1 bathroom with fully appointed kitchen. The comfortable, updated Island decorated living area with satellite TV and wireless internet is stocked with games and books and adjoins the deck by opening French doors. This unit is shaded and naturally cool, both bedrooms are equipped with AC and there are ceiling fans throughout every room. Battery Hill has plenty of onsite parking and is just a short walk to taxis if you prefer not to rent a car.

Our experienced On Island Property Managers are available 24/7. They will greet you at the Ferry Dock and guide you to Rainbows End at Battery Hill. They will give you a brief orientation of the unit, the common areas, and St John before leaving you with the keys. They are available to help with any details or questions regarding your stay on St John.

We are a family of five living in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC. We have very busy lives and Rainbows End in Cruz Bay is our escape...our small piece of paradise where we relax and enjoy the breathtaking outdoors. It only took us a few visits to St. John with our three children to quickly realize St John was a place we would always return to. We love the relaxing peace and beauty of the island and the great vibrant restaurants of Cruz Bay! Snorkeling off the white sand beaches is by far our most favorite activity...there is no place on earth like St. John!

Battery Hill is located on the top of the hill looking out over Cruz Bay. Not only does it offer amazing views, it is short stroll into town for shopping and dinning offering the best of both worlds. Rainbows End is a very private unit with GREAT outdoor space, both covered space for your morning coffee or an evening night cap as well as open space for private sunbathing! The complex pool is just a few steps away....it is a private grotto with all the amenities needed in close proximity!

We had a wonderful time. We walked to honeymoon beach many times and loved to snorkel there. My turtle friend below was always in the same spot and he would come up for air right next to me. We took a kayak tour to henley cay and it was a beautiful place to snorkel. We also went to Waterlemon Cay. We never did rent a car. We enjoyed the walking. The hills up to Battery Hill were perfect for us to get ready for hiking this summer! We took a taxi every place else. A very friendly taxi driver named Earl helped us out several times. I have his card and I will call him again when we go back to St. John. One night the Rising Stars Steel Orchestra played in Cruz Bay-- an amazing group of young people.



Thank you for the suggestion of La Tapia restaurant. We had a great meal there.



We kayaked from Cinnamon Bay over to Francis Bay--sat on the beach at Little Maho along the way. With the campground closed it felt like a graveyard. So sad--we had wonderful times there. But we have new memories of St. John now. It is a beautiful island and I can't wait to go back. I hope to bring the grandkids in a few years. Your place is perfect for young children.

Great Location!

We stayed for a week with another couple and this condo was great! Check in was easy - they met us at the dock and made sure we knew how to get there. It's close enough to Cruz Bay to walk to town for dinner, smoothies, the ferry, etc - its a hill on the way back, but isn't too bad if you like walking. We made breakfast every day and dinner a few times at the condo and used the cooler to take lunch with us on our beach trips. Several towels were provided and we had access to laundry so we could get the sticky salt water off everything half way through our trip. There are lots of games in a drawer that were fun to play, a line outside to dry towels and swimsuits, AC in the bedrooms, lots of ceiling fans, and views of rainbows every other day from the giant wraparound porch. What more do you need?!

Our only complaints:

-the wifi was taken out in the hurricanes and we did not find out until we arrived (a few of us had some things we needed to do for work and would have tried harder to do them before the trip had we known)

-there were lots of mosquitos outside after it rained and that is where the table for eating is

Viya, the supplier, has been working non-stop laying new copper wiring and we have been told it should be back up any day. The island has had issues with mosquitos as there was more standing water than normal after the hurricanes. We had an outdoor fan installed to help minimize them on the porch. I believe our complex will also be treating for mosquitos which will greatly help. We hope you will consider Rainbows End if you visit St John again! Our door is always open!! Cynthia

Great St. John Vacation Rental

Battery Hill is an excellent place to stay on St. John. It is clean and well kept. The pool is the best we have experienced with an easy access in and out. You can walk to town if you are in good shape. Walking back up, however, is difficult. We were very lucky to experience 2 weeks of absolutely perfect weather. Because of the Hurricanes, it is hard to find shade at the beach but my husband bought a tarp and bungee cords and we had shade! We loved Rainbows End but it was a lot of stairs down to it.

It is on the first floor but the parking lot is on the second! It has a great enclosed porch and an open deck. The stairs down all have railings and were not a problem but the entrance to the condo was difficult for me without any railing down the few steps since I have mobility problems. But it probably would not bother most people. A railing there would be perfect.

All the people there were very friendly and fun to talk to. All in all we had a great time and felt very fortunate to have been able to return to STJ this year.

Very clean condo with great accommodations. Property management was just a phone call away.

This was a girl trip to get away & relax, it was that and more. The condo was a walk down the hill from Cruz Bay. Taxi service came right to the parking lot of condo if we called. Easy dealing with owner prior to our arrival. Everyone on St John was so happy & thankful for the tourism after the hurricanes , we definitely will be back.

A fabulous stay in St. John

I am a bit late in reviewing our stay in February at Rainbow's End. What a fabulous place! We were a party of 2 married couples and there was plenty of room for us. The condo was just enough room for us and as pictured on line. The management company was helpful in meeting us and giving us a "tour" of the property and were at our disposal if we had any questions. The home was clean, nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We did breakfast in the condo every morning, took a picnic lunch to the beach every day and did dinner out at various wonderful restaurants. While we are nearing 60 years of age, we are all physically fit and enjoy walking. We did rent a jeep and used it every day to explore different beaches. We walked into town each evening for happy hour and dinner. The hill up to the condo might provide a challenge for some, but for us it was reason to get dessert with dinner! The rental car company even brought our car up to us the day after our arrival and picked it up on our departure. Convenient for sure!

The views from the condo and especially the pool area are perfect. There are plenty of lounge chairs poolside. The condo had a cooler that we used every day for the beach and the complex even has beach chairs (to be shared with others in the complex) and a few pieces of snorkeling equipment. There were plenty of beach towels to be used by all. Cynthia was great to work with in the booking process. We had a family health emergency and even thought we would have to cancel our trip the week prior to departure. She was fabulous to work with us on picking another date and very understanding with our circumstance. Health crisis avoided and the trip went on as planned, but we certainly appreciated her understanding of "life" and how sometimes it's unpredictable. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the property!

Great Location

My wife, son and I stayed there and loved the place. Very clean and nicely decorated. Steps from the pool, steps from laundry room and wonderful decks to enjoy viewing iguanas, just relaxing or having a meal. Place had a couple of coolers to use plus had clothes lines to hang towels and wet suits. The condos have beach chairs (shared) that you can take with you to the beaches. Our favorite thing was we could walk to town to have dinners though the up hill walk home was a little harder. We had a car (Conrad) but preferred to walk to town instead of having to deal with parking. Another bonus was Dolphin Market (local grocery store) was only about a block away. We'd go there everyday as they had better prices than larger grocery store. We would drive to market as very very steep hill to walk up from store to condo. We did not cook in much but condo was well stocked with pots/pans, knifes..... Internet worked fine as well as TV (March Madness). Would stay there again next time we come back to this island. There were a few flying insects though our son was only one who got a bite. Construction next store did not bother us as we get up early and then would leave for beaches during the day.

Spectacular Vacation!!

Our unit was clean, comfortable (including beds and pillows), well equipped, and conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and bars (all within awaking distance). We had four adults in the unit, with plenty of space inside and out to roam and/or sit. The outdoor porch was a great spot for meals and gatherings, the views were beautiful, and the swimming pool was mere steps away. We will definitely book another trip, and hope this unit is again available.
