Short walk to Stanley Park, great shops and restaurants. Close to theatres, museums and concerts. Take the water taxi to Granville Island and the Maritime Museum. Easy access to airport via Sky Train. Short distance via public transportation to ski areas. Bring your bikes and skates as Vancouver offers miles of protected paths and lanes. This is a safe and established neighborhood.

The private and quiet condo was recently fully remodeled. Floor to ceiling windows; a balcony with spectacular views; oak , tile and cork flooring; contemporary furnishing; fully equipped kitchen with granite counters; and luxury towels, linens and comforters. Original artwork and photography is displayed on the walls. For your enjoyment, there is a flat screen TV along with an iPod stereo with wireless speakers. Included is a printer and wireless high speed internet access.

The living area has seating area featuring a leather couch that converts into a bed that sleeps two as well as a separate matching loveseat. Also in the living room is a workstation for the computer and your office needs. The bedroom has a memory foam topper bed with featherbed and 100% cotton hi count bedding and two night stands. The remodeled bathroom features a tub and shower combo, and custom oak cabinetry along with a sit on top sink.

The fully-equipped, self-catering kitchen includes a stainless steel refrigerator, ceramic top stove, dishwasher, microwave, and a large stainless sink surrounded by ample cabinets. Since this is our second home, the kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen essentials. Help yourself to whatever is there.

Vancouver is a center for the culinary arts offering a wide variety of truly exceptional restaurants (of all price ranges), boutique markets, bakeries and, of course, Granville Island-all in close proximity. We maintain a regularly updated list of restaurants and markets for your convenience.

Golf clubs available for your use at the Stanley Park Pitch and Putt-a lovely small 18 hold course just a short walk away.

Why Harvey Stone chose West End

We live in a rural area in the US and have always seen Vancouver as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. This is our second home and is short distance away from our primary home but a world away.

What makes this condo unique

The West End is spectacularly beautiful with easy access to the entire city. The city is very cosmopolitan with especially a strong Asian community. We bike everyday we are here, either around Stanley Park or around the Sea Wall to either Coal Harbor or around False Creek or up to UBC. A great place to visit.

Great Owner - Good Location - Overrated Views - Old, Gross Building - Dated Condo

-The owner was fantastic and the location was pretty good, close to a lot of attractions, but also quiet. Owner and location are the best attributes for this property.

- First off, the key pickup at a key cafe a few blocks away from the condo is a bit onerous, an on-site lock box would be much more convenient.

- After the key pickup, the parking and room number weren't readily available because the VRBO app wasn't working (more inconvenient than the key pickup, not the owner's problem), but the owner responded quickly to my call and gave us the info we needed.

- Our first impression of the building was that it was old and stunk. We made our way to the elevator to find signs telling us there was a limit of two people (even though it's rated for 1,600lbs) and it was highly recommended to carry a cell phone in the elevator with instructions on who to contact if you go stuck on the elevator, REALLY! We sort of shrugged it off and made our way up to the condo.

- First impression of the condo was, well, it's dated and smells old like the building. The view is hyped up as being great, although it's about 60% blocked by other buildings. Basically, everything but the granite counters and bits of new tile is really dated. Not a huge deal, I just feel like the pictures are misleading.

- Low grade toiletries and towels in the bathroom. No individually wrapped items in the kitchen, therefore, nothing I would use. No welcoming items furnished like I've seen in other units (bottled water, small snack items, etc.). Many things could have made the condo more welcoming.

- We were only staying a couple nights so we dropped our bags and headed out to explore Vancouver, but didn't make it past the elevator. You guessed it, we got stuck in the elevator! So, we followed the instructions and waited about 20-25 minutes for someone to get us out. After informing the owner of the elevator issue, he offered a discount or full refund if we preferred. As we were staying such a short time (2 nights), we opted to accept the discount and stay. We only used the elevator 2 times after this and fortunately didn't get stuck again.

- Overall, we didn't have a great experience. The building and condo are dated, the elevator's safety is highly questionable, and the view isn't great.

- The positive qualities are the location and the owner, but for the nightly rate, you could stay in a pretty nice hotel. We were a bit disappointed.

Owner's Response: Sorry to read about your disappointment with our condo but I do appreciate the fact that your acknowledged our efforts to make it a good experience for you. As for your points: 1) KeyCafe has worked great for our guests. There is no way that we can offer an onsite lockbox or we would have done it. You are the first to complain about this. 2) We send each of our guests a detailed welcome guide and map, assuming that the one provided on site may be difficult to access for foreign guests. This has worked flawlessly up until now. 3) While the building is over 40 years old, it is regularly maintained. The elevator is being repaired and that was unfortunate. Again, once you identified the problem we were happy to offer you a full refund. 3) Not sure how to address the view issue-until now, it has been a highlight for visitors. 4) The condo was remodeled just a few years ago and we continue to make improvements including new furniture and new linens and towels annually. No one has commented on odors until now. 5) This is not a hotel but our second home. The kitchen is well stocked for anyone interested in preparing a culinary delight. We take your concerns seriously and will do our best to ensure future guests are not as disappointed as you.

Perfect West End residential location. Quiet building. Extremely well equipped apartment. Exceptional view. Obvious pride of ownership.

Perfect Condo and Location for Visit to Vancouver

Our visit to Vancouver was enhanced by staying in the lovely condo by the beach. Petite and well appointed, the condo had everything we needed to enjoy our time in the city. We walked everywhere, so much to see and do nearby. Harvey was an expert host, answering all of our questions, and assuring that we were comfortable. The view is tremendous from the deck of the condo on the 6th floor of a classic building. When the elevator was slated for maintenance on the day of our departure, Harvey graciously apologized and refunded some of the cost given the need to handle luggage on the stairs. Thank you, Harvey, for a great stay and your concerted effort to assure we had a great visit.
