About this property

Bargain fall/winter/spring rates. Lakefront privacy & campfire pit.

Care to enjoy some fun in northern Wisconsin? Our beautiful executive log homes located just west of Land O' Lakes, Wisconson, provides lodging that you can feel right at home in. This featured full log home, Bear's Den, is on beautiful Landing Lake, and is fully equipped, with indoor towels, kitchen utensils, bed sheets and coverings. Bear's Den Lodge has three bedrooms, two full baths, and a finished basement tv room. Two of the bedrooms are on the main floor, and a queen sized bed in the loft. The main floor bedrooms consist of a king sized bedroom and adjacent private bathroom. The other main floor bedroom consists of two bunk beds, which sleep four people total. Bring your own disposal items such as cleaners, paper items, coffee filters, extra ice, beach towels. Three separate lodges make up our condominium association: Moose (listing 1546416), Bear's Den (listing 234594) and Eagle's Nest(listing 1547784). Each of the three have their own listing and calendar on VRBO. If you can't find them, just send me a note. Eagle's Nest is the only lodge that allows pets. You may buy your own permanent fractional ownership share of five weeks/year, with the summer week time frame recurrent and consistent year to year. Look up Moose and Eagle's Nest Lodge on VRBO for their calendars or contact us. We only reserve by the weekly rate, Monday to Monday from June to August. However, if it is within two weeks of your visit, we will happily rent for three night minimum even during the summer. Come and go as you wish with the lockbox entry code we will provide with your final payment. July 4th, Christmas and New Years are an extra $100. September through May is a three night minimum, nightly rate. Because some of our shares are for sale, some reservations can only be made within 30 days of your arrival.

Landing Lake is a sparkling 203-acre lake on the Wisconsin side of the Wisconsin-Michigan border. Connected to 125-acre Mill Lake, the two lakes offer a combined 351 acres and over seven miles of shoreline for swimming, fishing, and boating. Mill Lake is shallow at only eight feet and low water clarity. Our lodges sit on Landing Lake, at the end of the road, with 700 plus feet of frontage on 26 acres.
We have fishing for northern pike and perch, with some large-mouth bass, out your back door. We have two piers, one for the pontoon and the other for lounging, swimming and smaller watercraft. You are welcome to use the various watercraft including: a small fishing boat with oars, four paddle boards, canoe, swim raft and kayaks. All but the pontoon are shared among the three cabins on a first come, first serve basis. The pontoon boat is available on a two hour reserve basis by use of a sign up sheet upon your arrival. It usually takes about leisurely hours to motor around Landing Lake. There always seems to be plenty of time on the pontoon for each lodge. Please note: While the pontoon is carefully maintained, there are occurrences where mechanical issues arise making the boat unavailable. We make every effort to get repairs done as quickly as possible, it is not guaranteed to be available for use. Our cabin is air conditioned for those occasional warm summer days, and our beautiful and rustic stone surround gas fireplace is cozy when the temperature drops. We heat with forced air propane in the winter. The loft and large windows facing the lake are part of the charming full log construction of the cabins. The lodges sport their own fire pits and chairs lakeside, as well as a large upper deck toward the lake on each home. The lodges are somewhat private with trees between the campfire pits and lodges. While you can see the adjacent lodge about 100 feet away, there is a sense of privacy. A walking path in front of the cabins is shared and leads to the two piers and boat house. We take the pier out any time after October 1, so if you choose this time period, the watercraft may or may not be available. Watercraft are available after June 1 for your use, and may be in sooner if weather permits. NO pier or boat access is available for your personal boat or jet skiis on the lake. There is no public landing and we don't have our own dock. However, you could rent a boat locally, park it on the trailer in our parking area, and visit nearby lakes. There is room to park and turn around your boat or snowmachine trailers on site.

With 26 acres at the end of a road, and over 700 feet of frontage, though we're only about three miles from the town of Land O Lakes, one feels like they are in the middle of the woods. And in fact you are... Nicolet National Forest and Ottawa National Forest cover much of the area surrounding Land O Lakes and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Located close to the snowmobile trails and only 20 miles from Eagle River, Wisconsin, the snowmobile capital of the world, you can enjoy the many winter activities the area offers. Watersmeet, Michigan, 10 miles north, offers a casino, cross country skiing, a nearby downhill ski area and golfing. About one mile further west on County Road B lies Black Oak Lake, voted a top clean Wisconsin Lake. A paved bike trail abuts County B and can be reached from the gravel road leading to the property. Black Oak Lake has a nice sandy beach, boat launch, day picnic area and changing room. It makes a fun day of great swimming near by. You are welcome to swim in Landing Lake and jump off the swim raft. The water gets deep fast in front of the cabins, and the lake shore is heavily vegetated. We often see waterfowl of all kinds and enjoy loons and eagles routinely. Down a beautiful wooded peninsula trail past all three cabins is a natural small wading area, with a gentle slope.

We have room to park your trailers for boats or snow machines. However, there is no public launch or boat launch for your personal boat or jet ski use. Many nearby lakes and the Cisco Chain of lakes have boat launches. We will be happy to have you enjoy the cabin, but no so happy about any recreational vehicle or tent camping on the property. Call or us write to see which lodge is available and works best for your group.

Bears Den Stay
Great log cabin, nestled in the middle of the woods. Very clean and comfy. Maty want to point out there were only 6 actual beds. 4 twins (bunk beds) , one king, and one queen upstairs. Pull-out couch was not very comfy!

Wonderful ambience and well equipped
We were very happy with the cottage and additional perks I.e. pontoon and kayaks. The scenery was beautiful, very quiet even with two other cottages. We will look forward to returning next year.

Fantastic stay, great property!
We only stayed for 4 days over Memorial day weekend. Everything was as advertised if not better. Beautiful, cozy and quiet place with all the amenities one needs during on the lake gateway. The pontoon boat included in the rental was icing on the cake. Management has been very responsive throughout the booking process as well as during our stay. Will definitely book the property again!
