At Alpen Rose, we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member, under 40 pounds, with you for a onetime nonrefundable pet fee of $75 per pet. Isn't it wonderful that for once you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing in the kennel "back home?" Pet fees are an additional fee to the total cost quoted. Please contact our office AFTER booking to add the necessary pet fees to your reservation.

Alpen Rose is a luxurious retreat that offers majestic, year-round views of the North Carolina and Virginia mountains. Located in the heart of nature and tranquility, this mountain cabin is perfect for that "escape" you've been looking for.

This incredible log home offers rare privacy while still conveniently located for hiking, horseback riding, water sports, and a short ride to downtown Jefferson and West Jefferson, NC.

As you enter Alpen Rose, you are greeted by the cathedral ceilings and windows and Tongue and Groove wood throughout. You will feel right at home with the warm and inviting decor. The living room has a couch and 2 chairs, 42" satellite TV, gas burning fireplace, and 50 mile views of the majestic North Carolina and Virginia mountains.

The dining table seats up to 8 with additional dining possible on TV trays. The kitchen area has granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and all of the modern conveniences of home.

On the main level is the king size master suite with satellite TV and private doors that lead out to the incredible wraparound deck. It adjoins the spacious and luxurious bathroom that includes a Jacuzzi tub, separate stand up tiled shower and his and hers vanity with granite counter tops. You won't have to worry about running out of hot water because Alpen Rose is equipped with hot water on demand that produces an endless supply.

The wraparound deck is perfect for enjoying the majestic views of the mountains. After a day of hiking, canoeing, or horseback riding, slip into the 6 person hot tub and relax. Let the soothing jets transport you to tranquility! The views from this cabin just don't get any better!!

As you travel upstairs, you can enjoy a private queen size bedroom with a 26" satellite TV and bathroom with beautiful tiled tub/shower and granite top vanity.

In the basement area you will find a den with a sleeper sofa (NOTE: We do not endorse sleeper-sofas or futons for any guest over 12 years of age due to comfort factors) and 26" satellite TV, the 3rd private bedroom with a queen size bed, a laundry area with a full-sized washer and dryer, and a game room. The kids and kids at heart will spend hours of fun with the Foosball game table.

Alpen Rose is the perfect way to spend quality time with the family. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Riverside Canoe Rentals or Zaloos Canoes, or hiking at one of the many trials in Ashe County. If you like horseback riding, Burnt Hill Stables is a short drive away and a great place for family memories. There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons and a 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October. 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday and a 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays.

Important Notes:
***The cabin is access by graveled back roads. However, you it may be necessary to have 4X4 vehicles with tire chains during the winter months.
***The owners use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
***There is no land-line phone in this cabin. Cell phone coverage is not guaranteed. The home does have WIFI so you may be able to call using WIFI calling.
***No Smoking inside the cabin
***Minimum age requirement is 25 years old

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
