The eight-bedroom Lodge, built in 1907 as a family summer cottage, accommodates sixteen very comfortably and is a great house for large family or group gatherings. The Lodge is a traditional shingle-style lake house that has been lovingly maintained by four generations of the same New England family.
The Lodge offers thirteen sunny, many-windowed rooms that capture lake breezes. A fieldstone fireplace and a 45-foot wrap-around lakefront screened porch distinguish this gracious summer property. Its shaded yard, gently sloping waterfront lawn and naturalized perennial gardens create a relaxing, private environment. The Lodge is located on a westerly-facing shoreline, offering expansive water views and beautiful sunsets along 150 feet of private waterfront. It also features a 24-foot permanent dock, a floating swim raft, and one additional boat mooring.
Our guests have embraced the ambiance of our traditional lakefront Lodge:
“I stayed at “The Lodge” with a family group of thirteen for a week in July 2009. It was a great experience and we all hope to return someday. We found the house to be well kept - very clean and in good condition. The rooms were all comfortable and nicely furnished. One of the best features was the large wrap-around screened-in porch where our entire family ate dinner every night and watched some of the most amazing sunsets any of us had ever seen. The lakefront was awesome with a very nice boat dock, a swim-float that our kids loved (ages 11-21), plus comfortable chairs, shady trees, a hammock, a tree swing and more. I highly recommend this place. It has one of the best views you can find on the lake and it’s a great value… and as an added plus, the owners are very nice people.” Brian M., Andover, MA
“Some of our fondest summer memories have been created in this beautiful summer home. My children love to fall asleep to the sound of the loons, and there was nothing better than sitting on the porch at the end of the day as the sun sets over the lake. We’ve enjoyed staying here with a large group, where there is plenty of room for everyone. We loved going to Wawbeek (The Lodge), my daughter just asked me the other day when we were visiting again!” Nancy S., North Berwick, ME
The Wawbeek Shore is easily accessible to Wolfeboro (8 miles south), Melvin Village (2 miles north), and Center Harbor (8 miles north), several of Lake Winnipesaukee's most charming historic towns. A nearby caretaker is available to address property and local area questions.
