Multiple visits to Aspen Creek, all have exceeded our expectations!
My snowmobiling group and I rented all 3 units in a total of 2 visits this season. Each unit is unique and accommodates different sized groups nicely. Each unit was clean, comfortable and luxurious. The kitchens were nicely stocked with cookware, utensils and spices to handle any home cooked meal we could prepare. The onsite cleaning lady was very nice and helped us promptly when we needed a specialty pan for cooking or more towels. Before coming here I read some of the reviews, some of them negative and here is my response. Complaint: The wifi stopped working after a the morning. Answer: You are traveling to the wilderness! Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T do not get cell phone coverage out here in 99% of the mountains unless you are in the State Forest parking lot across the street and then AT&T and Verizon will work. Wifi worked just fine for checking and responding to emails before heading out for the day. We will be back next year, thanks again Paula!

2/10 Terrible

Very misleading!
My family rented the Moose cabin, and we were very disappointed. First the pics were taken very well (makes the place look very large.) However it is just loaded with furniture, the dining room table chairs are right next to the love seat, so you have to be a child to get around the table. The ladder going to the loft is actually broken, and has been mended. Looks dangerous to me! The fan in the loft is really loud, but without it was to hot to sleep up there. The rooms were small and the dressers were full of stuff, and no place to put your clothes. My husband and I had to leave our clothes in our suit cases on the floor, and keep rotating which one would be on top to get our clothes. The kitchen was nice and spacious, however the kitchen was lacking room for our dry foods. We had to keep them on the railing above the stairs. Also cooking spoons and spatulas, however there was plenty of tools for making drinks. And she states that there are no pets allowed, however there are pet supplies under the cabinet and a large dog dish by the patio doors. The bathroom cabinets were full of Paula's personal effects and we had to keep our stuff on the counters. The point of a VRBO is it should be like your at home. Not the case in Paula's cabin. We were charged for wifi, but I was very disappointed when it didn't work when we arrived. We were told by other renters that it will only work in the morning until the data was used up. Paula did credit it back to us. We let Paula know that we had 6 kids and 4 adults, her comment when we were renting was that would be perfect the kids could be in the loft and the adults would have the own rooms. However when we got there I called to get the code for the room and asked if there was room service, because of the 10 people in the cabin. She then informed me that there would be a $30 per day per person over 8 people. I told her that was not the conversation we had when we made our reservations. Her response was I'm not going to argue with you, I'm just going to charge you. I don't like the fact that she keeps my credit card info. We spoke to the guys that were right below us and they stated that she still had there credit card information from last year! Not very professional on Paula's part! The gal that does her housekeeping was very nice, and almost seemed like she was afraid of Paula. Sad! We plan on coming back to the area, we had a blast snowmobiling! However we will not be staying here!

Smashed tomatoes
Aspen Creek exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed for 4 nights and had the best experience from the beauty of the outdoors and the beautiful rooms we rented. Very clean and luxurious accommodations. We will definitely be back to this wonderful property. 😆

4/10 Poor

Shocker
Our family had been looking forward to our stay all year long. The website presented such beautiful images. When we arrived housekeeping was still at work because we were told the previous renters checked out late so she had to rush to get it ready. The eagles nest needs a disclaimer concerning the heat factor and the odor. Not sure of the origin of the odor but kind of smelled like pet urine. The tiny ceiling fan only pushes the hot air around. With only one small window there isn't enough ventilation to get the rooms comfortable. The screen door was broken so you couldn't use it to ventilate because the room filled with giant mosquitos. Housekeeping said she'd bring fans up but never showed up wth them. Had to bring them up ourselves from the garage, but they did little to help with the heat. I'm sure this heat is welcomed during the winter months but not so in the summer. I guess she forgot to clean the shower not only this time but also from the stains around the edges looks like it had been missed for quite some time. Cleaned it myself- hair balls & stains. The shower handle was also broken & took some maneuvering to get it to work. The bedding for the sleeper sofa was piled in a heap on the floor behind the love seat. When I inspected the pillows they were not only pretty worn but also had blood stains on them. I stripped the bed, washed the linens myself, and slept with no pillows. The garbage disposal didn't work either. We were told not to put food garbage outside cause of the bears so I carted it to the other unit & used their disposal. Our family rented the whole complex & those in the bears den also stripped their beds to wash the linens only to find the horror of blood & other bodily fluid stains on the mattress cover. I guess house keeping was in too big a rush to notice this when she changed the linens on that bed. We're talking huge stains folks! So huge it soaked through to the mattress. When I reported these concerns to Paula she said she had never had any complaints before & told me there was a fan by the tv I could turn on(ceiling fan switch) & to get pillows out of the mud room. The only problem with that is that all the pillows in the facility needed to be replaced. She said if there was anything more she could do to make my stay comfortable to let her know. Totally ignored the stained bedding issue. I did message her again but she didn't respond. Sad such a beautiful facility is managed so poorly.

I am a Michigan native by birth, but a native to Albany from my heart since 2004. From the first time I visited Albany I knew right away that this was where I was meant to be. As a result, I purchased my dream property, developed and built my pride and joy Aspen Creek Cabin.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with this area when I first found it. There is all the things that I loved to do right out our front door. I have made countless memories with family and friends staying at Aspen Creek. It's simply a place of spectacular rugged beauty that makes you feel like you are vacationing in a National Park...And it doesn't matter the season, Summer and winter are equally spectacular, and the fall foliage season is tops in the western U.S. Visiting Albany, Wyoming will create memories you will cherish the rest of your life. No matter how many times we come back to Albany it never seems to let us down. It is a one of a kind place!

What makes this property unique

I built Aspen Creek with our Family and Friends. When you stay at Aspen Creek you will see the detail that I put into this home. The conveniences of Aspen Creek are second to none with the Albany Lodge just walking distance away. Aspen Creek is a great place to entertain, Ride ??, maybe some fishing and who knows a moon light snowmobile ride after dinner.
