PLEASE READ: Millie’s Retreat is meant for families to have a place to enjoy family, friends and loved ones in the peace and tranquility that nature offers. WE do this with the highest respect for our mountain neighbors therefore we cannot have any “nuisance” situations, including loud noise, firearms or animals that would disturb our neighborhood. If this is a problem, please continue on to the next listing. ZERO TOLERANCE!

LOCATED BETWEEN TRYON AND SALUDA EQUALLY ABOUT 8 MINUTE DRIVE TO EITHER SALUDA OR TRYON. I am not downtown.

Charming log cabin nestled in the hills between Saluda and Tryon, NC. It is a quick drive to either historic town. The house is on three levels with includes a loft bedroom with balcony and full shower, a main floor with a dining room/den combo with a gas fireplace, master bedroom, full bath, kitchen and glass sun porch. The den has vaulted ceilings that allow for the sun to shine in through the skylights. The lower level consists of two bedrooms, a half bath, recreation room with pool table and satellite TV. I have the Direct TV package and DSL Windstream wireless internet.
2016 I updated the HVAC to a larger NEW system, it really has made a difference during the summers as well as many other upgrades.

Sit on one of the two swings on the front porch and take in the breathtaking scenery. Or maybe just rock and and read a book as time slowly passed by. Privacy is the key and the house is situated on 2 acres of wooded property with many trails around making it ideal for hiking and nature watching. Downstairs is perfect for children with toys galore. Outside, ring the antique school bell to call everyone in for dinner!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CABIN IS LOCATED INSIDE A NEIGHBORHOOD WITH COVENANTS AND RESTRICTIONS. So I do not want renters that are entertaining large groups or having a planned party.
I am a very hands on owner, maintaining this home is large responsibility and we try to make it as warm as possible, but remember, it's in the mountains and I cannot check the house after each use. I have very nice and good helpers but we are not perfect.
As an owner, i will always try to respond the best i can, will always answer my phone ( i have before at midnight before) and i have support within reason i can call should the need arise.

An annual tradition!
This was our third time visiting Millie's Place, and we've already made our reservation for next year! We have a reunion of cousins aged 30-60. Checking in is easy, and the host is prompt answering any questions. We love the hot tub, sitting on the porch with rocking chairs, and visiting inside with a fire going. The beds and sheets are very comfortable. The views are beautiful. We also made good use of the second refrigerator. It's only 15 minutes from the main road, but feels very secluded.

Loved Millie’s Special Vacation Home💕
Communication with the owner was great from the time of booking until we checked out. Beautiful home- back porch had 5 rocking chairs plus 2. Front porch had 2 swings and lots of seating and a picnic table! View of the mountains was breathtaking. We loved the fire pit- s’mores- yum!! The house had plenty of beds, kitchen was stocked, Pool table and a clean, fresh jacuzzi. So many more features- fabulous 💕 very close to the waterfall rappelling, tubing and zip line over the gorge. Loved every moment.

I live in Mt Pleasant, SC and for two years straight felt like i was evacuating Charleston because of a hurricane threat almost every weekend during the fall months. So I would always head for the hills but couldn't find anywhere that would take us and our late dog Millie. We decided one day to purchase a house in the mountains as our Hurricane Evacuation plan and we called it Millie's Retreat!

Why they chose this property

For years I had always wanted a place with the charm of Saluda but with views where I could really appreciate the mountain air. I found it! And I hope you do too. Our friends and family enjoy coming to the house as much as we do and we love sharing our home with renters who appreciate their friends and families too! Please enjoy yourselves.

What makes this property unique

My son is 21 and has always loved playing in the yard and on the trails around the house with his friends. We love to truly rest and unwind by reading a book in front of the fire or sipping coffee on the front porch!
