Little Mountain Retreat is a custom log home completed in 2008 and located 'just a few miles from everything'.
Enjoy the solitude and relax by the fireplace in this 3 bedroom/2 bath log home. Grill steaks on the backporch or gather by the fire pit in the back yard and roast hotdogs and marshmellows. Pocahontas County is 'nature's mountain playground' and outdoor activities abound. Nearby the Greenbrier River offers canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing while the Greenbrier River Trail is designated for biking, hiking, horseback riding and XC skiing. Watoga State Park also borders the Greenbrier river.
The surrounding National Forest and state lands offer excellent hunting, fishing and camping.

Great cabin with all the amenities! Clean and well maintained. Provided easy access to all the local spots (Cranberry Glades, Watoga, Williams River, Beartown Rocks, Scenic Highway, etc), plus Lewisburg for shopping (slightly longer drive). Marlinton is close, in case one runs out of essentials/groceries. Good for relaxing on rainy days and for evenings around the firepit. Perfect for families and small groups. Location is adjacent to main road and to neighbors, so not a secluded spot, but still charming with local flora and fauna.
This beautiful log cabin made the perfect backdrop to our wonderful family weekend. Our host could not have been more accommodating. We can’t wait come back!!!
Second time we've stayed here. Cabin is perfect for our needs - well equipped, comfortable and good location. Recommend it highly!
My family and my best friend and her family rented this cabin in July of 2014. What a relaxing time of fellowship and re-creation. It is a hidden gem in Pocahontas County, WV where I was privileged to spend ten years of my childhood. The cabin was clean, spacious, and the kitchen was well-equipped for the cooks. Close by attractions include Cass scenic railroad (where you can step back in history to the era of steam powered engines), hiking, restaurants that offer country cooking, Watoga state park, and Droop mountain Battlefield. The cabin also had a horseshoe pit, and a fire pit. We entertained six youngins' between the two families, and there is only one word for this place... perfect!!!
The cabin is absolutely beautiful, beautifully decorated and spacious. All through our 3 day stay, the shower would run hot and cold. The last night of our stay, we, a family of 7, did not have hot water or toilet paper. If I wanted to do primitive camping, we would have gone to a primitive campsite. I do need to say that the manager did come to fix the water situation, but we had to buy additional tp at the store. Stay here at your own discretion.
This cabin is adorable and has all the comforts of home. Very comfortable and easily accessed. We arriived to over a foot of snow but the roads were clear and travel was not a problem. It is near the road but still feels remote without the difficult travel for a remote spot. We loved it and are thinking about visiting again next Fall.
