****Rates listed are in USD....please be sure to look at CAD price :)

We are pleased that you have chosen to visit our Radium Getaway in the heart of the Columbia Valley, which is nestled amidst the Canadian Rocky Mountains. We provide 100% response within 24 hours to our inquiries.

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath plus den apartment condo is one of the few 'penthouses' found within the lovely little village of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. You'll feel like you have your own little cabin in the mountains! Comfortably sleep 6 people in 4 beds with pillow top mattresses but is most comfortable for about 6 as it is an apartment style condo! If you are 8 people out and about all day--skiing, hiking, etc.--then it works comfortably for 6. The rustic and elegant pine and antique furnishings create an ambiance of relaxation and serenity.

Savor your meals on your deck, overlooking the mountains of the Columbia Valley, while sipping fragrant at one of the numerous links nearby; ski at Panorama; hike the HooDoos; take a day trip to Banff, Golden or Fairmont; raft down the Kootenay or Kicking Horse or even Toby much to do everyday...and at the end of the day...soak in the 40+C waters of Radium Hot Springs—open year round! Or plunge into the cold pool for a refreshing energizer! Curl up with a good book or munch popcorn while watching a movie. Take a stroll through the village, and watch for mountain sheep and goats or deer ambling along.

Radium Hot Springs is set in breathtaking Kootenay National Park, a UNESCO Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site. Immerse yourself in three of BC's most invigorating hot springs: Radium Hot Springs, Fairmont Hot Springs and Lussier Hot Springs. Each offers dramatic settings and soothing, mineral-rich pools, your source for rejuvenating pleasures in the area.

The park's stunning landscape ranges from forested valleys to towering summits. Resident wildlife include Bighorn Sheep, Grizzly Bears as well as Golden Eagles and songbirds. You can swim, cycle, camp and hike all summer long or try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.

Bugaboo Provincial Park boasts the largest glaciers in the ancient Purcell Mountains. Hard-core climbers take on the glaciers, while day hikers explore the park's varied trails. The world-renowned Columbia River Wetlands are a vital habitat for an abundant wildlife population including hundreds of bird species.

Windsurfers, canoeists, kayakers, recreational boaters/wave runners and swimmers gather around the 15 km (9.3 mi) long Windermere Lake, exploring nearby James Chabot Provincial Park and Kinsmen Beach and Park. Cyclists can explore single track and logging roads.

Anglers fish the pristine mountain lakes and glacier fed creeks of the Columbia Valley. Fish species resident in Lake Windermere include trout (bull, rainbow, cutthroat), kokanee and whitefish. Anyone fishing in British Columbia must have an appropriate license. Paddlers can navigate the Columbia River on a scenic day trip.

River rafters enjoy the rapids at Toby Creek, the fast running Kicking Horse River or can tempt the boisterous whitewater on the Kootenay River.

In winter, the Panorama Mountain Village resort has more than 100 downhill runs. Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is a small family ski hill just south of Radium. The great ski resorts of Kicking Horse (Golden-50 mins), Kimberley (90 mins) and Fernie (2.5 hrs) are within just a drive from the village of Radium Hot Springs.

For great cross-country skiing nearby, try Edgewater, Nipika Mountain Resort, or the trails at Panorama Mountain Resort. Snowmobiling & ATV'ing is also popular in the area.

For the daring, the Purcell Mountains provide opportunities for world-renowned heli-skiing adventures, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

About Penny Highet

Richard and Penny Highet love to use their Radium Getaway for working, relaxing and rejuvenating their souls. Their 'mountain cabin' condo getaway gives them a scenic opportunity to enjoy their flexibility as consultants. Also enjoyed by their 2 chilren and their partners, this Getaway continues over 45 years of escaping to Radium by their families. It is a pleasure to be able to share their little 'peace' of paradise in the Rockies with others who need solace to their souls. Radium is often the stopover for them on motorcycle trips south to the US and throughout Western Canada. Some great rides and we invite riders to soak in the Hot Springs before continuing on their journeys!

Penny Highet purchased this condo in 2008

Why Penny Highet chose Radium Hot Springs

Radium Hot Springs has been a Getaway for both of our families for over 45 years! When we met and married, we discovered this commonality and it has also been our place to retreat, relax, and rejuvenate ever since. Over the years, we have both spent special times here with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and nephews. We have since brought our friends and families to our 'special' place in the mountains. We wanted to make our time here much more special by having our own little 'cabin' in the mountains to go to. So, we set out to create a place where people would have all the amenities that they wished but would have that feeling of being in a mountain cabin. We hope that you enjoy your time spent in your 'Radium Getaway Cabin' and that you will find the time to visit time and again, as the mountains do 'bring peace to the people'.

What makes this condo unique

One of the Unique Benefits is that it is such a great 'jumping off' spot for loops through the mountains when motorcycling! We love riding the highways throughout the Kooteney and Okanagan Valleys!

Subject: Thank You

Hi Penny, thank you very much for the use of your place from Weds to Sunday. My friends and I loved staying there. We cycled, golfed, hiked and went to the Hot Springs. Your place is a great home away from home. Thanks for the gift certificate to use your place. We will be back in touch, if possible we will book your place again next year for the Sat and Sunday night of the May long weekend and for Friday July 8, Sat July 9 and Sunday July 10 (check in on the Friday leave on the Monday). I will be in touch.

(A Thank you gift from us to guests who return a couple of times a year to their Radium Getaway...they visit every year since we began to share our Radium Getaway in 2008!)

Property was great but VRBO experience poor

  • 4 of 5

The property was very good. We have stayed here numerous times.

I was very unimpressed with VRBO. I received a receipt for payment initially that was grossly inaccurate and caused a great deal of confusion between me and the property owner. We sorted the issue out independently of VRBO. The property owner was equally frustrated.

Owner's Response: Hi! Thanks so much for the great property rating. We have been pleased to host your group for the past 10 years and are glad that our Radium Getaway is a place that you want to keep returning to. I am sorry that the new payment system with VRBO was so difficult and confusing.

Clean and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

Place is clean, well equipped and well stocked. Lots of information to make the stay worthwhile. The only thing not mentioned there is no parking in the parkade for a full size truck (low clearance). Otherwise beautiful place.

Owner's Response: Hi Sid, We park our Dodge Ram 1500 in the parkade all the time so we've never had a problem and no one else in our hundreds of guests had indicated an issue. Our motorcycle does have more clearance! Lol It does appear to be tight and maybe a 3/4 ton or jacked up pickup might not fit but our 1/2 ton certainly does. Lucky that there is ample street parking! Glad you enjoyed your Radium Getaway otherwise!

An amazing place located in stunning Radium!

The apartment is thoughtfully furnished, well-stocked and makes you feel at home in an instant. The host (Penny) is organized and articulate, to the point of providing quick responses to any questions one might have. Flawless in every aspect!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here! The condo is very comfortable with everything you need for your stay. The owners definitely put forth the extra effort to make sure your stay is perfect. It's close to the grocery store and restaurants. The parking was a pleasant surprise, with a secure parking below the building. We plan to return to the area (because 1 week is not enough time to see the area!), we will definitely stay here again.

Radium getaway

  • 5 of 5

This getaway is home away from home. It has everything needed to enjoy a comfortable stay. The owners were very easy to work with to book the property and accommodating prior to our arrival. The property is exactly as it is described and has so much more available to use then I've seen at other properties. The layout is great for a family. I brought my two daughters and one of their friends and we all had space to hang out and the space needed to spend quality family time. Everything is well labeled and instructions provided to make the stay easy and effortless. Would definitely book this property again next time we need a place to stay in Radium.
