A quick walk to the beach and a short drive to Mill Bay Village and all that the Cowichan Valley has to offer. Short stays welcome! Take in the natural beauty of the countryside from this peaceful setting. Located away from the highway on a quiet country road, yet conveniently located close to local shops and sightseeing.

The house is a spacious single level design with three large bedrooms and three bathrooms. There is a master bedroom with King bed and ensuite bathroom, a second King bedroom, third Queen bedroom and two separate bathrooms. The open plan layout features a living room with ample seating, large windows overlooking the garden and ocean, gas fireplace, HDTV, fully equipped kitchen, dining area and kitchen table with doors opening out to the sunny patio with propane BBQ. There is also a separate family room with cozy wood stove, office, laundry room and a large garage.

Enjoy full access to this spacious country house and expansive lawns and gardens. Regardless of the weather, there is ample room to relax and unwind. Cozy up with a book by the fireplace, or sit on the patio and relish in the peace and quiet of this secluded location. The large yard and peaceful roads are ideal for dog walking.

The house is conveniently located a short drive to many nearby local attractions, including Arbutus Ridge Golf & Country Club, Cowichan Valley Wineries, river trails offering hiking, biking and horseback riding, kayaking and fishing in the calm waters of Mill Bay or Cowichan Bay. The beach and rainforest nature trails of the Mill Bay Nature Park are about a 5 minute stroll along the quiet country road. The Mill Bay Marina offers year round moorage, rentals and a restaurant. The grocery store and shops of Mill Bay village are a 5 minute drive away.

Visit Cowichan Bay for fresh seafood, kayak rentals, fishing and whale watching tours, and boutique shops.

The house is a short distance from many local schools and offers the perfect base for families with children attending Brentwood College School, Shawnigan Lake School or Queen Margaret's School. (Inquire about longer-term stays)

Wonderful property
This rental home exceeded our expectations. It provided more than enough room for our family, with a large, modern kitchen, multiple sitting areas, comfortable beds, and three bathrooms (including a huge ensuite with jetted tub). An abundance of windows throughout gives plenty of natural light, and the patio areas are large and comfortable, with flowers, fruit trees, and a big, well-maintained yard for our kids to run around in. We particularly enjoyed the ocean view and regular visits from resident deer. The property is very private, and very close to amenities. Check-in was easy and communication on the part of the manager was great. We can't say enough about this vacation rental. Highly recommended.

Lovely home, lovely setting, impeccably clean, well maintained, spacious. All around wonderful.
We were six adult family members sharing a vacation on Vancouver Island for a week. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home. The setting is beautiful and convenient to some many different activities to be enjoyed on the island. The house is spacious, very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are nicely sized and spaced; the beds very comfortable; the bed and bath linens very nice. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the views are gorgeous. We cooked most of our meals right "at home", and the kitchen and grill were well-suited to our tastes and needs. The kitchen could use a few things like a knife sharpener, more coffee mugs and dish towels, but overall our gourmet cooks were very happy with the set up. We would rent again and recommend this home to friends and family in a heartbeat.

Location is great! Mill Bay is a wonderful place to visit (and often several degrees warmer than Victoria, who knew?) The property is quite large, lots of room for the kids to run around. Enjoyed the great view of the ocean. Excellent communication from our host, i have already recommended the property to a friend and we would certainly come back. Netflix was a nice touch, and the shower pressure was awesome My only critical feedback is around the kitchen. I think some of the items could use a refresh. We cook almost every meal, and are used to higher end items from a five star property. There was not a sharp knife in the unit lol (other than the one i bought and left behind). the appliances had minor issues needing repair, and the garbage can in the kitchen is so tiny that we could fill it up twice over dinner. Minor issues however in what would otherwise be a five star experience

Great Destination for the whole family!
We have a large family and have been coming to Hillcrest in Mill Bay for the past 6 years. The house is very well kept and is very spacious. The property is very large, beautiful and private. Even the dog run is big! While you may have to drive to the beach, there is a cove right down the road for some great beachcombing. Organic farms surround you. Great blackberry, plum, apple and blueberry picking nearby. Very central location to get to the other Islands. You won't be disappointed!
