About this property

Marion Village's Very Best Cape Home (close to Tabor Academy)

VILLAGE LOCATION!

Back in 2000, my family purchased this cozy seaside house here in the quaint village of Marion, MA - just one hour away from Boston, Provincetown, and Newport, while only thirty minutes to Cape Cod and Providence, Rhode Island. Our home is ideally suited for a family or anyone looking to be right in the heart of Marion's Village.

ABOUT THE HOME:

Have the opportunity to live in a historic Marion three-bedroom home, originally built in 1910 but renovated in 2001. Filled with lots of light, the home features a kitchen, half bath, office, living room, dining room, and mud room complete with washer and dryer on the first floor. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and one bath. The back door opens to an outside patio facing a beautifully landscaped yard. Table/chairs and umbrella are on the patio for outside dining while a gas grill is provided for cooking. Parking is available in the driveway next to the house.

Hot outside? No worries - we have air conditioning!
Coming back with sand from the beach? Jump in the outdoor shower!
Need to catch up on your latest Netflix show? Turn on the 65" flat panel smart TV!

ABOUT THE LOCATION:

Located on the southeast coast of Massachusetts, Marion is a residential seaside community known for its love of boating. This town has the warm waters of Buzzards Bay but without the traffic and congestion of Cape Cod!

This "dreamer's cozy nest" is located within easy walking distance to Marion's harbor, town beach, beautiful waterfront homes, general store, shops, art center, music hall, Beverly Yacht Club, and Tabor Academy.

This house also has a small cottage on the property - also available for rent if you're looking for a smaller space (see Marion Village's Very Best Cottage on HomeAway).

Host profile image
A Worcester-native, I have spent the majority of my life in the Boston area. I am a Nurse Practitioner at Mass General Hospital in Boston (currently helping with the coronavirus pandemic). I have been a summer resident of Marion for over twenty years and know all the best spots in town (feel free to ask me anything about the area!).

What originally drew me to Marion? We were looking for a quaint beach town to bring our young children during the summer that did not require a huge sacrifice in terms of a commute. We wanted to avoid all of the traffic on the bridges towards Cape Cod and be just a little closer to Boston where we lived. Thus, we stumbled upon Marion, almost a mini-Nantucket and have never left!

The original home we purchased was owned by a family friend and it had been in their family since the 1910s. It was really special that we were able to purchase it and make it our own home for all of these years.

I just love the ability to wake up and have all of the treasures of Marion right at my door. Just a few steps from the house is the heart of the town, Marion's Front Street featuring local businesses and churches.

Why they chose this property

I also offer a Tiny House cottage located behind this house. It is perfect for one person or a small family looking to enjoy the benefits of downsizing in a cute and cozy one-bedroom cottage featuring a loft space with two twin beds. Be sure to check it out here on HomeAway!

What makes this property unique

Perfect location in Marion - close to Tabor Academy, beach, and town as well as other vacation spots on Cape Cod, Islands, or Plymouth.

I take pride in my home. The property is well maintained, and I am very responsive to all guest requests.
