Simply Amazing spot!
Most amazing place to time out from the world for a bit. The hosts are super helpful while being super respective of your privacy and space. They shared fresh fruit from their orchard with us and had everything in the place perfectly ready. We have stayed at a fair number of VRBO, but I cannot think of a single improvement for this one to share. The location is in a perfect countryside, but close to everything. If your looking for a Zen place to relax with someone special…book this place and you will not regret it. My only hesitation on recommending this place is the greedy fact that I can’t wait to go back so hope we can book again soon. :-0 Thanks again Hank and Barbara…Well done! See you soon we hope. Shawn

Beautiful cottage, romantic & private
We loved our stay at the cottage. The whole property is beautiful, the house is well-kept with lots of extra touches that made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door (flowers, fruit, special soaps). Barbara came over to greet us & show us around, and shared fresh fruit picked from the trees on the property. Hank also introduced himself & let us know that if we needed help with anything we could just ask. The cottage had everything we could ask for. The interior is beautifully decorated & very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed & we cooked almost all of our meals here. The wrap-around lanai was our favourite spot, the views of the West Maui mountains & the ocean were spectacular, the breezes were fresh & lovely, and always the sound of the waterfall & the birds all around. Did I mention that we loved this place? The outdoor shower is perfect & private, also the outdoor bath for two. So romantic. Very easy to get from the cottage to other parts of the island (you’ll need a car). Excellent internet connection so we could easily take care of work that needed attention while we were away from home. We would stay here again in a heartbeat & are missing it already. We would recommend this property without reservation and hope to return here in the future. Thanks Barbara & Hank for an unforgettable vacation!

Beautiful getaway
This is our second time at Hanks. It was as beautiful as the first time. Hank is such a wonderful guy who would bring me lettuce and lemons from his yard. Love the privacy of the place and Haiku is such a great time. Close to beaches , Paia Ana Makawao.

I live in Haiku on Magical Maui. I'm on the verdant, lush, gorgeous North Shore...not in the crowded tourist areas. I've lived in the islands over 40 years and 25 of them on Maui. I love Haiku because it feels like country, yet we are only 5-10 minutes away to great restaurants, art gallerias and boutique shopping. All properties around are a minimum of 2 acres so there is seclusion and privacy. I love to garden and enjoy all of the tropical plants that have been planted and lovingly cared for. Guests enjoy the exotic, tropical plantings with vibrant flowers everywhere. Some call it a tropical oasis. There is also a huge organic veggie garden that I love to share with guests, along with all kinds of citrus fruits and bananas. Guests come from all over the world and enjoy the relaxing ambiance that the property provides. I look forward to meeting you sometime too.

Cottage guests love Haiku. They love the seclusion and privacy. Many guests have stayed at the high end hotels and condos and prefer the cottage because it is so comfortable and located on a spectacular piece of Maui real estate. We are in the country, but only a 5-10 minute ride to great restaurants, art galleries and boutique shopping and the beach.

Another unique part of the view is that you see no other houses on Maui. It is truly a very special, unique setting.
