We'd like you to know:

The Loft was designed and created by us for those of you looking for the ultimate getaway. Here you can relax in privacy, feel pampered while enjoying up-scale amenities, unobstructed views, and peaceful, natural surroundings.

Situated at the head of Sequim Bay at approx. 450 ft. elevation, The Loft offers a panoramic view of Sequim Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker. The view of the Strait provides an ever-changing view of many ocean bound ships. (We provide binoculars for you to enjoy the activity a bit closer up.)

The Loft itself is approximately 500 square feet in size and is the second story of a completely finished building which we use for storage and a workshop. Our home is also on the property, however the purposeful orientation of the two separate buildings allows for total privacy for our guests.

There is an inviting, separate and gated entrance leading around to the backside of the building housing The Loft. Once around the backside, you will find towering evergreens, a wonderful private patio with a hot tub and gas BBQ...and a beautiful view of Sequim Bay out into the Strait. Relax in the comfortable patio furniture and enjoy the pleasing ambiance of trees, water and solitude.

Beyond the patio and landscaped yard, and on the hills behind are tall evergreens that extend up to high peaks within Olympic National Park. It is not uncommon to have eagles flying overhead, deer in the lower grassy areas and visits from bunnies.

We originally envisioned building this space for our family and friends to use while visiting. So we wanted it to be very special even from the beginning. As the project progressed, we decided to offer it on VRBO (which we had used many times ourselves). So we doubled our efforts to create a place that felt warm, cozy, romantic and luxurious. We even provide spa towels and robes!

We decorated The Loft using vibrant and inviting colors. We used natural slate, granite, a heated tile floor, upscale fixtures and solid cherry woodwork/trim throughout to accomplish our vision. One of our favorite features in The Loft is the gas fireplace. We spent hours designing and installing it. Surrounded with natural slate tiles it has a hand crafted mantle of solid cherry and truly is 'one of a kind'.

We planned the furniture and fireplace arrangement so that the fireplace, wall mounted HDTV, and straight on view of Sequim Bay can all be enjoyed from the comfort of the bed! We also installed 'stealth' stereo speakers in the walls...they are invisible! The balcony of The Loft overlooks the bay and is a wonderful place to just 'be'.

We are in a gated community comprised of five-acre properties. Ours is located on the top of the hill, at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is the last of only three homes situated on the street.

We feel we accomplished our goal of creating a very special place, and are pleased to offer it for your stay in Sequim. Our central location on the north end of the Olympic Peninsula makes this a great place to stay while enjoying the numerous activities available in the area.

The Loft is about a ten minute drive from Sequim and about 20 minutes drive to Port Angles.

“Port Angeles/Sequim is a gateway to Olympic National Park. Because of the dramatic relief —the peaks rise to over 5,000 feet within a few miles of the coast — the area hosts diverse ecosystems, including alpine environments studded with lakes, ultragreen old-growth forests threaded with whitewater rivers, and bays that harbor orcas and steelhead.

We bought our 'retirement' property in Sequim the day after we first saw it in 1999. I had found it listed on the internet and when we arrived to check it out, we just couldn't leave. We decided to spend the night in town and come back the next day to see if it still had the same affect on us. It did. The sunsets of summer here are gorgeous; purple and gold and red...and on that day the sunset was spectacular. So when we came back the next day with a picnic lunch we knew had to own this land.

We ended up moving here full time much sooner than we had originally anticipated but everything happens for a reason, right? It has turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made.

Our daughter attends Washington State University and just completed her junior year. You will surely meet Hannah, our friendly yellow lab during your visit.

Sequim has long been known as a wonderful retirement spot. We chose to buy here because of the small town size (but growing), the fact that it's only a couple hours from Seattle, has a great marina (the John Wayne Marina)to suit our boating needs, and the fact that Sequim gets very little rain compared to the rest of this side of Washington state.

What makes this studio unique

There really is not one spot on this land that doesn't have a view. Whether it mountains, forested hills, ever-changing water views of Sequim Bay and the shipping lanes beyond, or the San Juan Islands. No one ever comes here without exclaiming about our view. Even people who have lived in this area all their lives are amazed.

Perfect getaway near ONP

My wife & I spent 5 nights at the Loft recently & were thoroughly pleased with the experience. In short, the fit & finish of the place is first rate, the location is ideal for exploring all that Olympic Nat'l Park, Port Townsend, the Strait, etc., have to offer, & if there's a better view to fall asleep or wake up to anywhere in the area I'd be amazed.

Maybe we were extra fortunate w/ regards to privacy as not only were the owners apparently out of town (although we would've loved to have met them), but the few neighbors living in the Sequim Estates were also never seen or heard during our stay. Unless you're counting the bunny rabbits, crows, & a beautiful Black-Tail doe, we didn't hear or see another creature. The Loft is extremely private. We'd go out for breakfast most mornings (The Oak Table Cafe is NOT to be missed), drive & hike to our hearts' content, then come back to the Loft for a soak in the hot tub & glass of wine to finish a perfect day.

Loved every minute of our stay & hope to return soon.

So much better in person.....

This place was ideal. We were in a perfect spot for all there is to see in the area. The scenery is ahh inspiring. The 'loft' has all anyone would need and more.....comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, kitchenette, balcony to overlook the bay, hot tub and wonderful patio area with a gas grill. The owners were very helpful with what to see and do and very gracious overall. A high-end rental, pristine condition. Just make sure you ask right away for the pass code to use the internet, you need one. Overall this was an excellent property and would recommend it to any couple.

Since you've been here we've written up some general information (which is left on the kitchen table) about "things to know" when staying in The Loft and included the wi-fi password as the first item. Sounds so obvious, but we just hadn't taken the time to write it all down! It gives Kemp and I great pleasure to be able to share our Loft with others, and to find that we have indeed created a place that is very much appreciated by our guests. The Loft is truly an extension ourselves as we have much time, energy, equity and even emotion invested in it. Better than advertise! Relaxing, relaxing, relaxing.

Can not recommend this place enough if you are looking for an upscale place to relax and recharge. We got there mid Friday and didn't leave the place untill Sunday; it was great. Kitchen is functional with no stove but many other ways to cook stuff, i.e. electric skillet, Panini press, waffle iron, microwave. It was a blessing from God for us to find this place on this weekend!

Peaceful, Removed, Romantic

The Loft was a perfect place for us to get away. My husband and I stayed a few days right before Christmas, and found the quiet, peaceful, romantic setting perfect for our needs. The pictures online are true to the experience, but even they don’t capture the Loft’s emotionally cozy warmth. The unit is atop a garage/work space in a totally separate building from the owner’s beautiful home. (We really enjoyed the big house’s festive and tasteful holiday lights.) While one window of The Loft in the kitchen/dining area offers a partial view of the big house, the orientation of the space and the window shade provide ample privacy. The overall arrangement is such that you never feel like you’re imposing on each other’s space. The patio and hot tub area is completely secluded and perfect on a crisp early winter’s night, especially in the December rain! The gas grill makes it easy to make dinner in if you’re not up for a trip to Sequim. The Loft is really a very lovely design, and thoughtfully appointed. We’d return again, and definitely recommend for others!

Perfect destination for a peaceful vacation

I can't say enough positive things about this location. The hosts were extremely informative and even went above and beyond to provide restaurant and activity recommendations. The loft is extremely cozy and as another reviewer noted, "dangerously comfortable". The location is prime to exploring all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. I would absolutely book this location again when I return to the area.
