When you feel like exploring it's only 8 Minutes drive to the famous black sands of Muriwai Beach, popular for it's wonderful surf, Golf Club and Gannet Colony.
Take a walk along the west coast walkway or enjoy a horse-trek along the vast spetacular Coastline. There is also 4wheel drive access up one end of the beach, permit required.
Fishing from the rocks or exploring the cave is popular when the tide and conditions are right.

Further afield by about 20 minutes Woodhill forest offers paintball, tree adventures and the Mountain Bike Park.
Other attractions are Parakai Hot Pools, and Historic Helensville.
Heading South in the other direction, a day out shopping in Auckland City is not that far, or check out the closer new Norwest Mall a 25 minute drive away.
Locally, you will find a supermarket , cafes, takeaway shop, Thai restaurant and more, in the Waimauku Village, just five minutes from your holiday retreat.
If you wish to dine at home you will find that the kitchen is well equipped for you to create your own meals.
For those who are looking to stay at a Motel but cannot locate one, there is an option of staying one night only by arrangement.

The valley is very peaceful at night, we ask that all noisy music or other sounds to cease by 11.00pm as sound travels readily across the valley at night.
Guests of visitors who have not paid to stay are required to leave by 11.00pm.
