The Mataikona coast is full of opportunities for those who simply enjoy walking and fossicking. Suitable for all year round, you can sit in the sun and watch the hypnotic surf from the deck with a nice, refreshing drink or stay inside playing darts and keeping warm by the woodburner. Head down the road to the Whakataki pub or the golf course, or visit the spectacular cliffs and views at Castlepoint.

Great get away
Loved the sound of the ocean and the view from the master bedroom. Rustic and authentic west coast batch with everything you needed including an array of board games. Loved every minute of it... just what the family needed

Perfect getaway by the sea
Great day, perfect for a weekend getaway, the bedroom overlooks the beach and is so comfortable, it's hard to get out! Enjoyed looking at the book collection, lots of interesting reads in there!

Perfect kiwi Bach
I stayed at this wonderful, classic kiwi Bach with my family. We loved the proximity to the beach, the well stocked kitchen (sharp knives!!) And the comfy beds. The master bed is raised so you can lie in bed and watch the sunrise. I would love to come back for another holiday. Thanks for having us!

peaceful and homely
So happy with our stay here over Christmas the bach had everything we needed we only had to bring our own food we totaly overpacked but know for next time , the kitchen is well stocked pretty much dont need to take anything for cooking with, we enjoyed using the outdoor pizza oven and experience making our own wood fire pizzas, we all enjoyed this, enough seats around the property to so no need to take your own chairs like we did lol, the home was so warm a bit too warm on the hot days it wasnt unil our last day there that we found the fan under the stairs wish we had it sooner, im glad the stairs had a child safely gate at the top as i had 2 babies under 2. we enjoyed the view of the sea we were all geared up to do diving and fishing but the wind was a bit too much on the days we stayed there but my older kids enjoyed to just cross the road and have a swim when they please, the neighbours and locals that you see around are all friendly, we thank you for opening your little piece of paradise and we look forward to stay again it is a cosy healing home away from home
