HazyDaze is a mecca for native birds, Kereru (wood pigeon), Tui's, Bellbirds, Tomtits, Fantails, Silvereye, Whitehead, North Island Robin, Quail all on our property. There are some lovely walks nearby. A popular bush walk, or bike ride, goes through beautiful bush to Omori and Kuratau, and another is at the top of Hauraki Terrace with great lake views. HazyDaze has a large flat private lawn, surrounded by mature trees for playing games like Petanque, cricket, croquet and a flat area for parking the boat. Clear nights are awesome for stargazers. You can see the lake through the trees and a 5 minute walk to the lake

We don't charge for cleaning, so please as per Kiwi tradition, we appreciate that you leave Hazydaze clean and tidy on departure

Great getaway and serenity
Awesome place to stay with our pooch and go walking. All the basic things you need at your finger tips (and more) just needed drinks and food.

An A frame delight
We give it an A! Great location, quirky and charming A frame bach with great extra cabin. Lots of great features and just as described Di does a fantastic job of informative instructions and helps make you feel at home right away. We had a fantastic long weekend away, with close by bush walks, beaches, boat ramps and comfy beds at the end of each day. Very well appointed with everything you’d ever need plus some great touches that show they’ve been in the hospitality business a while. Easy private off street parking for vehicles and boats.

Great little spot for a summer vacation
The place was great with all the amenities you need. Di was very prompt with answers to all the questions I had. A short walk or a drive leads to the beautiful lake access beach where you can spend the whole summer.

Great stay
The communication with owners was superb. This was the first property we have rented that was well-equipped in the kitchen, with cleaning products and toilet paper & hand wash on arrival - we brought all this anyway but was lovely to have it there after a long trip!!! I loved the birds and native bush! Another mention must be the comfortable beds. Enough room for our boat and kayaks etc. Eating outside was lovely as was being able to bring our wee dog. Thankyou Di, we really loved our stay and will be back!! You have a great bach and our kids loved it as Wifi is a must for them like a washing machine is for me lol.

HazyDaze is a family bach we have owned for 42 years. We have 2 children, and 4 grandchildren who all love going to Pukawa, the grandchildren now especially love cooking marshmallows over the brazier. We love travelling to new destinations. My husband is a passionate fisherman, both fly fishing and sea fishing and I love to cook and entertain family and friends. We both love good food and music

Why they chose this property

We bought this property as it had an amazing bird thanks to the bird life that has increased hugely since we bought it, is close to the lake for great trout fishing and water sports, close to the Tongariro River, one of the best trout fishing rivers in the world, and not far to the ski fields at Whakapapa Mt Ruapehu.

What makes this property unique

Abundant native bird life. Awesome bird life. Lake peeks. Pet friendly. Walk to Oreti Restaurant and Timeshare village, a popular venue for a wedding. Walk to the lake for fly fishing in the local stream. Private grounds.
