Disliked: Room comfort, communication
Owner doesnt care. Slept without bedding. run away
Look elsewhere. We only needed 2 nights, and booked as such. We received the confirmation but then 2 days later the owner, John, contacted us and abruptly told us we needed to pay for an extra night because he said he had a -3 night minimum stay. Deep in his booking policy it stated this. We only needed 2 nights but because Maui was fully booked, and our airline changed our flights extending our trip by 2 days at the last moment we had no choice. we paid the extra night which went unused. I now see he has a 2 day minimum posted.
Issues:
-on day of check in we still did not have the check in info from the owner. Had to email John. Other reviewers have had same issue, he always says his all email can go to spam. It didn't, he just hadn't sent it.
- when we arrived after check in time the unit was being shown by a realtor. Had to wait for them to leave.
- !!! The room says sleeps up to 6. Don't believe it. 4 maximum. we booked for 5 people but there was only bedding for the main bed and 1 extra set which we used on the sofa bed. Emailed John and he said he’d contact the cleaning service. Bedding never arrived and 1 of us slept on the vinyl futon without bedding for both nights that we were there. John never apologized or offered any credit. he didn't care.
- the unit is renovated poorly. AC never worked well. No hot water in mornings. Dryer didn't work. odd layout. only 4 can eat at two small tables. Drapes old and stained. Old building. This was a bad end to our 2 wk Maui stay.
