The fitted kitchen has underfloor heating, and there is a dining room, and a sitting room with doors to the garden, The cottage enjoys panoramic country views, and there is a large enclosed garden and off road parking for three cars. Once known as Jorvik, this vibrant town was a major Viking centre of commerce and boasts a huge selection of architecture from a variety of historical periods. From the city walls to the charming shopping street known as The Shambles, York has something for everybody. There are various cruises available down the river Ouse and visitors can enjoy the National Railway Museum, the Castle Museum and Betty's Tea Rooms – home of Yorkshire Tea and an incredibly unique mirror from the Second World War on which service men visiting the café could write their names with a diamond-tipped ‘pen'. Further afield are the Yorkshire Dales and Moors as well as the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey, making this an incredibly diverse destination.

Wonderful accommodation, spacious, would love to return.
The Cart Shed is very well equipped for a wonderful, carefree stay with everything thought of. A lovely living space with big family sized table for happy meals and an excellent kitchen. Good bedrooms and we so appreciated the 3 en-suites. Park and ride to the glories of York was so easy. We would love to return.
