Ulverston is the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and is the proud home of the one and only Laurel and Hardy museum. The town has many good shops, pubs and restaurants, a leisure centre and a cinema. The soft, sandy beaches and excellent birdwatching of the Furness Coast, and all the attractions of the National Park are easy to get to from here.
