About this property

This stunning property is an outstanding, Grade II listed converted stable in open countryside that sleeps up to seven people.

This beautifully converted stable block is a Grade II listed detached building and has been thoughtfully renovated to provide a unique holiday home. With a wealth of original features, the cottage is full of character and boasts cruck beams and exposed stonework. There are three stylish bedrooms, a well appointed bathroom and the fabulous kitchen has a dining area, The first floor sitting room is on split level and has a wood burner effect electric stove and a games area, making this a cosy, family-friendly room. Outside is an open courtyard, with fabulous views, furniture and barbecue. A separate building houses a sauna, hot tub and shower facilities. This is a great property for a family holiday all year round.

Amenities: Oil central heating with electric stove. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, ice maker, TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD player/radio, WiFi, library of books/games/DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Off road parking for 4 cars. Bike storage. Open courtyard with furniture and BBQ. Note: The working stables are located directly beneath the bedrooms (stables not occupied by horses in summer months). Stabling available by prior arrangement.

Region: The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: On the edge of the Peak District National Park between Bakewell and Sheffield is the hamlet of Millthorpe with splendid views of the Cordwell Valley. The hamlet is set among rolling countryside and the neighbouring villages are made up of traditional old houses and buildings. The area has a number of hostelries and restaurants waiting to be discovered and Hathersage is close by with more in the way of amenities. In the summer there is an outdoor pool, the churchyard is said to be the burial place of Little John, and Charlotte Bronte is thought to have got her inspiration for Jane Eyre after she had visited friends in Hathersage, so despite its small size, Millthorpe has had quite an influence on its surrounding area. With both the Peak District and Sheffield so close, Millthorpe is an ideal base for a holiday.

Great location, the hot tub and spa are a bonus
This is a deceptively large property, where the pictures don't really do it justice. the location is amazing, it feels really out in the sticks, but is 20 minutes from Sheffield City Centre. The hot tub and sauna are perfect at the end of the day, there's loads of beds / bedrooms and everything you need for a great break - thank you
