About this property

Family friendly gite with shared pool

The house is entered via a private patio area which has a table and seating for 6. A BBQ is provided and a sun canopy with outside lighting ensuring the perfect ambiance for al-fresco dining. The views from the patio look across the complex and over the Viaur valley.. Through the front door you enter the large kitchen diner. The kitchen is fitted to a very high standard with separate freezer and fridge, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and gas hob with extractor. It is fully stocked to enable full cooking facilities including over work-top lighting. There is a large oak dining table with seating for 6 in the kitchen.
Through the kitchen is the salon providing a lovely cool area to relax with ample seating for 6. Just off the salon is the hydro-wet room + WC, providing a new experience in bathing and relaxation. Up the restored chestnut staircase leading from the kitchen you reach the two large bedrooms and family bathroom. The large master bedroom is full of character with beams and exposed stonework and offers a relaxing calm environment. The second bedroom has 3 single beds with two chest of draws and room for a cot. It has exposed stone walls and beams.

The property is one of three gites located on this pretty complex. Next to the property is the laundry with two washing machines and a dryer, this is a shared facility with the other gites. Opposite the gite there is a games store with table tennis, table football, badminton equipment and various outdoor games..

On site the grounds offer picnic tables under the walnut trees, two children's play areas and the large shared swimming pool. In the garden there is a pétanque pitch and boules are available for use if you don't have your own.

About the host

I was a teacher in the UK running a special needs department. Here in France I live with my husband and have twin daughters, who are home with us occasionally on holiday. Andy my husband renovates property in the area and the girls are at University in France and the Netherlands. We have adopted a rescue puppy this year called Luna.

Why they chose this property

We chose this run down old farm because of its flexibility and the fantasatic views it has over the Viaur Gorge. The layout works perfectly for us allowing us privacy when needed as well as privacy for the guests - but where we can socialise too when we wish to. We love the area as we believe it gives a true reflection of rural France .

What makes this property unique

Peace, calm, tranquility - but then a peek into rural french life which comes alive in the summer months - an area steeped in culture, tradition and folklore.
