Fabulous large Georgian double upper apartment located in the heart of the Newington, whose parks / cafes / bars and shops make it our favourite district of Edinburgh. The large cosy property is ideally placed to enjoy the best of Edinburgh's festival and fringe attractions with the minimum of hassle. Many of the main venues / attractions are a stone's throw from the flat, and others, like the castle, Royal Mile and the main shopping areas are easily reached on foot in less than 20 minutes or around 10 minutes by using the frequent bus service which stops outside the door and takes you directly into the heart of the central shopping area.The apartment was redecorated in 2013 and 2014, and although it has been tastefully modernized it retains many attractive period features, such as original fireplaces, working shutters, ornamental balconies and decorative cornicing. It is a perfect for larger families / groups who are looking for a base from which to explore the city.The accommodation comprises, on the lower floor: An impressive reception hall with a spiral staircase to the upper level and access to all the lower floor accommodation.A stunning open plan lounge with large 3/4 length shuttered windows which make this room elegant and bright. The room contains an extremely comfortable corner sofa, a flat screen television, DVD player and provides ample space for larger groups to chill.A spacious open plan kitchen / dining room which includes a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer.Four double bedrooms, all with original sash and case windows, three with working shutters and the other, an en-suite bathroom.On the upper floor:Two loft style double bedrooms, both with double beds and views over the rooftops to Arthur's Seat.A large bathroom with large freestanding bath.

Well located, comfortable Edinburgh base.
Great apartment. Served our family of 12 well. Two upstairs bedrooms perfect for our four grandchildren. Main floor was well set out, four bedrooms were comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed with everything we could need. Bedding was great and comfortable beds. Towels very nice (could have had a few more, especially hand towels). Only one “common area” so if anyone needed quiet time their only option was bedroom, but for a week quite manageable. Four story climb can be daunting but we managed. Due to location on Main Street can be very noisy in front bedroom and main sitting area, especially with windows open. A bit “tired” -cracks in walls and ceiling that could be repaired and freshened, slow draining shower on main floor a bit off putting, needs ceiling fan in main sitting area or hall to circulate air on hot days. Location was perfect! Located within decent walk to Royal Mile but outside “touristy” area. Easy to get out of town to other sites or walk to park, etc. Long term parking nearby. Communication with owners/managers was excellent. We were driving in and not sure of arrival times - very accommodating! Would highly recommend this apartment for families! We really enjoyed our stay and very much appreciated this apartment.

Brilliant property and thoughtful contents, games, coffee, tea, washing up liquid,etc. Very good location and convenient for the Old town. On route to the hospital so some sirens during the night.

Perfect week.
A spacious luxurious property. Beautiful bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. A good sized open plan area so everyone was together. Great location, easy to walk to the Royal Mile and Arthurs Seat. It helped that we had perfectcweather with sunshine and blue skies the entire time.

Lovely location
Everything was as described in the listing. Location was perfect for our family. We did several tours and spent time enjoying the local restaurants. It felt as though we were able to find something for everyone within a few blocks. Owners were easy to communicate with and quick to respond to questions. There are small grocery stores on the block and we were able to pick up food and wine to make dinners at home. I’d highly recommend renting this home! The master bedroom was my favorite while our daughters loved the spacious living room.
