A wonderful opportunity to experience archetypal English thatch cottage living for up to 6 guests in iconic Broadway, The Cotswolds. This lovely, centuries old thatched cottage - of which only a few remain and is walking distance to sites, shops and olde English pubs - is located in the stunning and unmissable Cotswolds village of Broadway, which is often referred to as the 'jewel of the Cotswolds' and the 'show village of England'. Broadway is well known for its excellent art galleries, antique and modern furniture stores such as OKA which is set in a beautiful Georgian House on the High Street and let's not forget all the wonderful restaurants, cafes, delis, pubs and gift shops.

The village is also perfectly placed for exploring the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare and the Royal Spa Town of Cheltenham.

Additionally, the Cottage is moments from the Cotswold Way which is a 102-mile (164 km) long-distance footpath, running along the Cotswold Edge escarpment of the Cotswold Hills in England.

A legacy of the Broadway Artists' Colony is that the village has several of the country's best art galleries. There are also a number of restaurants, pubs and tea shops, as well as a range of gift and clothes shops. Relaxation, retail therapy and good food and drink make Broadway a very popular place to stay and visit throughout the year. There's also a SPA at the wonderful Lygon Arms Hotel in the village.

The Vale of Evesham is the fruit and vegetable basket of England and has for many centuries supported a number of communities that have thrived on its fertile soil. Drained by the River Avon and with the town of Evesham as its centre, the Vale includes land in south Worcestershire, south Warwickshire and north Gloucestershire.

The Cotswolds are a range of hills in west-central England, sometimes called the 'Heart of England'. The name Cotswold means 'sheep enclosure in rolling hillsides'.The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains beautiful stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens.

In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Cotswold towns include Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Burford, Chipping Norton, Cirencester, Moreton-in-Marsh, Northleach, Stow-on-the-Wold, Stroud and Winchcombe. The town of Chipping Campden is notable for being the home of the Arts and Crafts movement, founded by William Morris at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. William Morris lived occasionally in Broadway Tower, a folly, now part of a country park. Chipping Campden is also known for the annual Cotswold Olympick Games, a celebration of sports and games dating back to the early 17th century. It's a short drive from the cottage to this village.

Broadway has a number of places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a sample of the options available:

•Russell's
•Broadway Deli
•The Lygon Arms
•The Potting Shed
•The Swan Inn
•Crown & Trumpet

Wider area:

There are many excellent places to eat and drink in the Vale of Evesham and the North Cotswolds , with the major towns of Evesham, Chipping Campden, Broadway, Stratford-upon-Avon, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, Burford and Chipping Norton containing a wide variety of tea shops, pubs and restaurants, catering for most tastes and budgets.

There are also many traditional pubs located in the lovely villages throughout the Vale of Evesham and the North Cotswolds.

The privately owned cottage contains a wealth of traditional character features, including original oak beams, windows and doors. The character of the cottage is complemented by its modern facilities including a modern kitchen and central heating.

The cottage sleeps a maximum of 6 people, in three bedrooms, with a family bathroom plus a modern wet room with walk-in shower to one of the bedrooms and a downstairs toilet. There is a large, enclosed garden and parking. Broadway Boutique Cottage offers a memorable stay for those looking for a peaceful - but not isolated - short break or long stay in beautiful Broadway.

Broadway Boutique Cottage is accessed from its own lovely old front door, which leads into the living room which is furnished as two zones. You may wish to watch a movie from our digital TV. The chill out zone near to the Sony Bluetooth stereo offers a selection of CD's and books to enjoy during your stay.

The kitchen/dining room has everything you would expect a kitchen to have (inc. washing machine). Here you will find a lovely dining area looking out onto the garden.

The downstairs loo, completes the set up on the ground floor.

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs. 2 of the bedrooms contain king sized beds and the middle room contains a double bed. Each bedroom has an antique wardrobe for you to store or hang your clothes or your purchases from the lovely shops on the High Street.

Upstairs is a family bathroom with a bath and shower over plus one of the bedrooms has its own en-suite wetroom, it's just a matter of deciding who gets the en-suite!

The lawned garden enjoys beautiful rural views and hopefully the sound of a sheep or two from the neighbouring fields. There's an outdoor seating area for alfresco dining.

The maximum occupancy of the property, including its grounds, is six guests, at any point during your stay.

Pets: No, sorry.

Arrival time is after 3pm and departure time is by 11am, however we are always prepared to be flexible subject to other guests stays and their arrival/departure times.

The property's garden is enclosed. We can suggest bicycle hire too.

Kitchen essentials are provided for your convenience (eg. Tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet roll, etc), however, the quantity of these items may not be sufficient for the duration of your stay.

No smoking is permitted throughout the property. Thank you and enjoy your stay.

Christmas in the Cotswolds
We had the most wonderful time at the cottage in Broadway! We were there over Christmas/Boxing Day and it was the perfect place to hole up and relax! Photos don’t do it justice - it is just beautiful! Everything you need including a first floor toilet which came in handy! We cooked meals and played games. Only complaint was that the Bluetooth speaker wasn’t connecting so remember to bring your own - there were CDs which we played though! The location was right on the road to Broadway and was an easy walk to town. The views from the house to the fields across the street were gorgeous!

Great place for a family
Our family loved staying here for our recent holiday in the Cotswolds. Location was great for walking into town, and there were many public foot paths for exploring near the cottage. The addition of modern conveniences like TV and wifi kept the younger members of our group happy too. Would love to visit again!

Why they chose this property

I am quite new to The Cotswolds but fell in love with its stunning, preserved landscape and architecture. The property has a long 400 year old history linked with Broadway's coach travelling days. This cottage is a former groom's home. You do feel part of history in the making just staying in it and yes you will probably hear a horse trotting by or the hounds in the morning or the sheep in the field. The air is clean, the area is very safe and relaxing but above all it is stunning. Broadway has a high quality range of shops, eateries and things to see and do. It's a very beautiful place.

What makes this property unique

Thatched cottage WOW!
Sense of stepping back in time
Immensely relaxing
