About this property

Modern Loft apartment with lift access in central York, sleeps up to six

The location of The Loft apartment is unrivalled in the city. It is located on the top floor of a converted warehouse (there is a lift) tucked away at the end of Peter Lane where three famous "snickleways" meet makes it accessible from all sorts of directions. It is literally steps away from The Shambles, the Minster is two minutes walk away, the Yorvik Viking experience is also just steps away and there are countless restaurants and shops surrounding the building. All this but still the apartment is calm and quiet, away from street noise, the Minster bells can be heard when the windows are open!
With two double bedrooms and two full size single beds on the mezzanine area, The Loft apartment can comfortably sleep up to six people, also has two bathrooms! There is a fully equipped kitchen for dining in or just a quick cuppa before hitting the shops again!
The master bedroom is en suite with a shower and the family bathroom has a lovely deep tub and a shower. The mezzanine is reached by quite a steep stairway but once up there, the space is large, bright and very pleasant with two single beds.
The two double bedrooms have smart televisions, as does the living room and there is a flatscreen television on the mezzanine level too.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, we alos leave milk, juice, tea and coffee for when you arrive, There is also a selection of cereals, jams and other beverages for you to enjoy.
Wifi connection is excellent throughout the apartment and is free to use. We have also installed "Alexa" for your pleasure too.

Family stay in York
We stayed in this apartment for 6 nights on a family trip with 3 generations. The apartment was very comfortable and close to everywhere we wanted to go. The views were great. Easy walkability. Checking in was a little confusing at first but we followed the directions step by step and it all went well. Communication with Sharon was excellent. She responded to all questions within minutes and was very helpful. The only small problem was the washing machine was broken when we arrived so we had to find a laundromat at one point. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.

Girls weekend
A well kept apartment in an excellent location, ideal for 4 friends to explore a new city but also enjoy time together. The hosts were incredibly helpful, especially in allowing us a late check out, but also provided a wealth of useful local knowledge.Would recommend highly and happily stay there again

Fabulous city centre location
Beautufully presented and centrally located flat in York. It was the perfect place to stay for our University reunion. The flat was well appointed, clean and very cosy. Would thoroughly recommend if you're looking for the perfect place to stay in York

My husband and I ran a bed and breakfast in Scarborough for 13 years. When we decided to move to York, our children were teenagers, they are now 21 and 17 but our dream is still to get the kids all grown up and then move into our apartment in the centre of York. We moved to Scarborough after having lived in Florida for 20 plus years and we settled back really very well into the English way of life, Dave is original from Sheffield whilst I was born and bred in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Why they chose this property

We love our apartment because it is modern and bright with an amazing calmness about it but with the fascinating city of York right below it. The location was the first thing we fell in love with but then the apartment itself with it's huge windows and the feeling of not being overlooked, you cannot see or hear a car or bus or a person for that matter but you are steps away from the vibrancy of one the best cities in the North of England and all the history, culture and diversity it has to offer.

What makes this property unique

Modern meets 17th century...Popeshead Court is a converted warehouse built in the 17th century but with all the modernity of a new build. There are exposed beams and vaulted ceilings and still some original steel posts running through the apartment. You will be able to step outside the apartment building and be in the very heart of York with all that it has to offer.
