About this property

Gorgeous Little Mill House set in 5 acres of garden

About our home

The Mill House was built in 18th Century is fully modernized but retains its charm. It has an aga and open fires, but is south facing and benefits from a lovely patio overlooking the stream (tributary for the river Avon). There are trout in the stream and kingfishers and egrets can be seen in the garden. The very attractive nearby town of Marlborough has a renowned Summer School. The train journey to London takes under an hour.

The most relaxing week away
We had an incredible time in the Mill house. It was such a cozy and comfortable house with a huge garden where we saw deer and a couple of ponies. We cooked in the house every evening and bought fantastic produce in the local farm shops and towns. Couldn't have asked for a nicer week away. We'll be coming back next year for sure! Serena was also absolutely lovely and made sure we were having the best possible stay.

Excellent stay
We had the most lovely few days at Sharcott Mill. Serena was a pleasure to deal with and was immediately responsive to our questions. The house and grounds exceeded our expectations. The surrounding countryside is idyllic and we're grateful that this listing was available. We would return in a heartbeat!

About the host

Hosted by Serena Hartley

Host profile image
Hi, my name is Serena and Sharcott Mill is my home. I happily let guests use my 2 spare bedrooms and have the use of the whole house and garden as I am often away.
The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped, and the garden is really large and pretty with the stream running past the Mill.

Why they chose this property

Sharcott Mill is secluded in a 5 acre garden/field with stream and woods at the bottom.
You are very private here and the patio faces south west so is ideal for relaxing and eating outside.

What makes this property unique

You are staying in my home as my guests rather than tenants.
