Bocas Del Toro - 'Casa Bocas' of Saigon Bay - Celebrate the Islands!

Welcome to our Bocas Del Toro rental The Casa Bocas, a real Panamanian gem!

You will get the best of both worlds, a relaxing secluded island hideaway, and a proximity to town that is fun and useful. You can easily walk to downtown from the house in 20 minutes, or catch a taxi for $0.60 each.

Soon you will be able to lay down in your hammock over the blue waters, crack open a novel, and let the warm wind blow through your hair. Live the Caribbean dream in a fully loaded home, with natural hardwood finishings. The home is located Less than two mile from the islands’ airport and central Bocas town.

The home has been built over the water with rich native woods, fans, air conditioning (only in the master bedroom), hot water, fully equipped kitchen and lots of space to relax and enjoy life. There is WiFi internet here and a cell phone that comes with the house for your use. You can purchase time cards at the grocery stores.

Enjoy a variety of amazing adventures. Take pleasure in walking miles of picturesque sandy beaches, snorkeling, surfing, fishing, kayaking or rent a bicycle. We can also arrange boat tours with a boat captain or a visit to a local Chocolate farm.

Weekly & monthly rates are available and are set based on the season.

- Full use of the 2200 square foot home and decks - three bedrooms and a loft room (Three rooms with queen beds and one with four twins).
- Masks & snorkels can be made available so you can see the sea life right off the deck!

Lovely view, great family spot
It’s a bit rustic, but a lovely view from the deck. We had a fabulous family vacation. Enough room for 10. Our host was excellent. The fridge broke while we were there and he was over right away to fix it. The breeze was lovely across the open indoor/outdoor living. Bring your bug spray!

Spacious hideout
We searched for a place where we could really relax as a family of four and we found it. We had more space than we needed and all amenities we expected and then some (such as the kayak or the dryer). While it is not as separated from the village as it may seem on the picture, you can be all by yourselves. Still, in no time you can be downtown with a cab (60cents). The kids loved to go back by watertaxi. Chris was a great manager and he reacted right away when contacted but never disturbed us in any way. If you stay in Bocas del Torro you must consider this house. It will host easily a small crowd of up to 10 people. Enjoy!

Just Okay
I'm not sure where to begin this review. I booked and paid my deposit in Oct of 2014, in December I received an email saying my reservation was being canceled. After emails and international phone calls, Tyson, the prop manager, finally convinced the owner to let us stay the dates we reserved since NOTHING else was available. The house does set on a nice bay, but it is surrounded like much of the island in garbage (not really the owner's fault, just be prepared). There is only air conditioning in the "master bedroom" upstairs. The upstairs bathtub/shower leaks onto the KITCHEN counter when you use it, the guy in the office said "I know, sorry". They leave you absolutely nothing in the house except dishes and toilet paper, no dish soap, nothing to scrub dishes with, NOTHING. So be prepared to buy every single thing you might need. The water taxi is very expensive from the dock, you have to walk up the road a little to the gas station (covered in trash) to get a taxi for about 4-5 bucks into town each way. I have traveled all over the world and I mostly stay in homes. This was not my best experience. It was rather messed up from day one and filled with many misconceptions.

Over the water living with access to town
Spacious property with great views over the water and a resident heron perching just outside. Everything inside (including air con in main bedroom) works, though some crockery has not been replaced as it gets broken and paintwork could be refreshed. Far enough out of Bocas town to be reasonably quiet and tucked away but not isolated. A five minute taxi ride to town for $1: though the route to the road (and small supermarket) where one can pick up a taxi is via a narrow boardwalk and muddy shanty town lane so access with luggage is easier and more pleasant by boat. The management staff are mostly pleasant and efficient but we had the misfortune to be met on arrival by the exception: a guy with the appearance and personality (if not quite the intelligence} of a stick insect who gave us wrong information about which key let us into the house so we were stuck outside in the dark for some time. We much enjoyed lounging on the spacious and comfortable outside decks looking at passing pelicans. Boat trips to other islands were easy and fun by ferry. We made one organised boat excursion to the north of Colon island including a perfect beach at Starfish bay, the bird island with amazing tropic birds, and freshly caught lobster lunch at a beach restaurant: Kamania tours set up the trip for a very modest price and picked us up by boat direct from the house with a friendly English speaking boatman. Despite our minor niggles, the house was excellent value with comfortable space for several more people than the 2 of us.
