Restful Retreat just off the Cabot Trail

  • 4 of 5

This secluded, yet easy to find, house has a well equipped kitchen, sufficient linens and was very clean. The pictures make the rooms look cozy when actually they are quite spacious. The view was great especially at sunset, as everyone seems to comment. The pathway down to the waters edge was very well maintained. Great choice for small families or friends traveling together.

One thing to consider if you are a group or plan to do laundry is water pressure. There are 2 bathrooms with showers and a clothes washer. Only 1 of these can be used at a time, because when 1 is in use the others will not have any water. Owner does make you aware of this and you just need plan a bit. ( Also, we were there during drought so it may not always be an issue)The gas grill is probably due to be replaced.

Owner was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed the property and would recommend it.

Loved the view!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I just recently returned from this cottage. The cottage is so well appointed. The kitchen is stocked with an amazing amount of dishes etc ( even if I didn't do much cooking ). The bathrooms were also well stocked with towels etc. Since there was only two of us we didn't use the downstairs bedrooms or bathroom at all. The bedrooms looked very inviting though and for a basement were nice and bright. The main bedroom upstairs was very comfortable and had plenty of windows with a view! The view of the water was amazing and I could have just sat all day in the front room and looked out the window. The cottage is close to Baddeck but far enough if you are looking for solitude. Would love to return sometime!

Wonderful location with a beautiful view.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and felt is was the perfect location for us. We were close enough to Baddeck for grocery shopping and to attend the Baddeck Gathering Ceildh's in the evenings. The sunsets were outstanding on the evenings that it wasn't raining. The weather was exactly what we'd wanted: cooler than in Texas!

While some of the furnishings are showing their age, the kitchen was well equipped and easy to work in. It was great to have the laundry complete with detergent and dryer sheets.

Everything was clean and well prepared for our arrival. In fact the cleaning lady was still there when we arrived, but she allowed us to unload our car early so we could go grocery shopping.

Excellent property and location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect for our family of 6. It was clean and has a wonderful waterfront view. The location is perfect to quickly cross the bridge towards Sydney, or cross the ferry at Englishtown to access the Cabot Trail. It is a short drive from Baddeck to get groceries or dinner or spend time at the fun Alexander Graham Bell Museum.

The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need. The towels were many and fluffy. There is a fire pit outside. The walk down to the water is longer and the shore is rocky but that was fine.

Every communication with the owners was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again on future visits. We were a group of three adults and three teenagers.

Thank you for making your wonderful cottage available.

Amazing location!

Beach wasn't as accessible as we hoped, but the sunsets more than made up for that. Clean, spacious and centrally located. Perfect for our trip!
