Wonderfully Quiet and Peaceful location...
Linda was a pleasure to deal with and made our booking and stay very enjoyable. Heron Point is a very spacious house with a layout that allows for everyone to have their space! We really enjoyed our morning breakfasts at the dining table with great views of the water and some quiet time on the screened in porch. Large kitchen with everything you could possibly need to cook for two or a large family. We very much enjoyed the quiet and peaceful setting, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the many picture windows, a short drive to the Point Prim lighthouse and Point Prim Chowder House - a wonderful meal. Thanks again Linda for your great hospitality!
Lovely all around!
We love Point Prim and the proximity to Charlottetown. We lacked nothing at Heron Cove and had a very relaxing vacation!
South Shore of PEI
A large secluded beach house close to the ferry terminal, offers privacy, beautiful views and great access to much of what PEI has to offer.
Great spot for a place to relax
We really enjoyed our time at Heron Cove. The beach was lovely and we had all the conveniences at our disposal. Thanks!
Great relaxing family get-away!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at heron cove. We were a family of 5 adults looking to relax and find a peaceful get -away and we got what we wanted with heron cove.
We had basically our own private little red sand beach with shallow water to ourselves, to walk, find rocks, sea glass, soaked your feet and contemplate the ocean with its gentle waves.
The beach was right at the end of the lot so walking back and forth from the beach to the cottage was super easy and convenient.
The cottage was an incredible treat for us with every bathroom having a full bathroom so everybody could do what they wanted and go at their own pace.
The ocean view from the cottage was great but the best was on the second floor were nothing was blocking your view.
There is a DVD player but no blue ray player so if you plan to watch your favourite movie, make sure you bring the DVD version because we got caught but the cottage had some as backup and we enjoyed movie night with munchies.
Linda, the owner, is wonderful and makes every effort possible to make sure your stay is a good one and we did, thank you linda !
Beautiful and relaxing
This was a wonderful stay for our party of 6. The house was even much better than the owner describes. It is on one of the most beautiful areas on the island and a quick trip to Point Prim Lighthouse and restaurant. We ate there twice! The house is very spacious and we basically had enough room to spread out to avoid too much "togetherness". We enjoyed family lobster dinners and games in the dining area that looked out onto the water. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need as far as dishes and pots/pans. Each bedroom had a beautiful view. I was amazed at how perfectly this home was decorated and designed. Linda put a lot of care and time into making this a very special and unique home. I spent a lot of time admiring the various artwork that is displayed throughout the cottage.
Linda lives on the property and you wouldnt know she was there, unless I happened to email with a question and she always responded quickly and brought something over within 5 minutes. I believe I was looking for a shovel and it was there in a split second. She made us an amazing loaf of bread and brought us a local honey. Tips and recommendations for touring the island were shared.
Walking out to the beach was beautiful during both high and low tide. My son had the best time observing razor clams. At low tide, we were able to walk so far out it was unbelievable.
The area right around Heron Cove was amazingly beautiful. I can't possibly capture in words how perfect and beautiful this house and the whole island is. I would definately stay here again.
The only negative thing I can think of would be that PEI certainly has lots of large mosquitoes. Linda leaves mosquito coils and spray in the house so renters are prepared!
Hi Lydia, Thank you for the lovely review. It is always satisfying to know that guests have enjoyed the island and found the Heron Cove beach house filled with happy possibilities.
About mosquitoes.. I'm so happy to report that the Point Prim community has contracted a mosquito control group who are extensively treating salt and fresh water areas. We are committed to taking care of this annoying situation. Next time you will feel a BIG improvement.
Heron Cove Beach House is located in the community of Mount Buchanan on the Point Prim Peninsula. Point Prim, home to the island's oldest light house is a prominent landmark jutting out into the Northumberland Strait. The shallow sandy shelf surrounding the peninsula soaks up the sun at low tide, warming the ocean waters as the incoming tide crosses over. Swimming at high tide, is perfect
Other Activities: beach combing, birdwatching, clam digging
