About this property

Mountainside Log Chalet at Fernie Alpine Resort

This beautiful log chalet is located just a few minutes walk to the ski lifts of Fernie Alpine Resort with ski to the door convenience. Log beds, pine floor, and woodburning fireplace add to the charm of our Black Bear Chalet. In fact, we adopted a stuffed black bear from Fernie Mountain while we were building our home and he is still present as the keeper of our chalet.

Our chalet is ideal for large families or groups who love to cook and socialize around our large kitchen table, built by one of the owners. Large decks off the kitchen and great room, a propane barbecue, and a commercial hot tub aid to the enjoyment of the secluded property. A fire pit overlooks the lake at the back of the property, giving you a back to nature feel. It truly is a little piece of Canadian paradise!

The property also has a basement suite, occupied by long term tenants. The basement suite has a completely separate entrance to ensure privacy for our chalet guests. The basement tenants can be used as a resource for local dining and activity recommendations.

Amazing ski weekend
Great ski lodge! Cozy. 5 minute walk to the lifts/village. Only issue was not being able to control the hot tub temperature… it was too hot to use unfortunately. Everything else was great!

Fernie Family Vacay!
We LOVED this place! So warm and inviting! Owner was super quick with her responses when we contacted her. Short little walk to the hill was icing on the cake! Have already put in request for rental for next ski season! Thanks for the great hospitality, Lana!

Colin a was a high school teacher, but now is the General Manager and a PGA professional at Steele Canyon Golf Course in San Diego, CA and Bear Creek Golf Course in Murrieta, CA.

Why they chose this property

As avid skiiers, we first fell in love with Fernie because of the DEEP powder snow in the winter season. Later, we learned Fernie is a great place to be all year around - skiing, snowboarding, ski-doing, hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, and of course, golf!
