Hawthorn Cottage just steps from the beach.

Hawthorn Cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything to make our guest feel right at home. The cottage is fully equipped with all the comforts of home. The full size kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, coffee, teas, and condiments. There’s WIFI service, Smart TV, Cable, DVD player, movies, books, magazines and games. We provide towels, linens, hair dryer and some toiletries.

Just around the corner you’ll find great Waterfront Restaurants with Live Entertainment on weekends, a variety of shops and art galleries. The beach and town pier is just two short blocks away, where you can relax or enjoy an afternoon cocktail at the beachfront Tiki Bar.

Our backyard gazebo or front covered porch is the perfect place to kickback with a book or glass of wine. Colonial Beach is a Golf Cart Community where you can rent a golf cart to tour the town. Hawthorn Cottage invites you to come Stay Awhile!

Hawthorn Cottage is 90 minutes from Washington, DC and Alexandria VA and 40 minutes East of Historic Fredericksburg, Va.

Check-in time is 2:00pm and checkout time is 11:00am.

Hawthorn Cottage is a Smoke-Free Environment, however we provide comfortable outdoor seating areas where you can relax and enjoy a smoke.
Due to our allergy sensitive guests we Do Not Allow Pets.
Open April 1st thru October 31st, however we accept long-term winter guests.

Very nice, clean, dry, and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage is in a good location - central to both the water front (point) and the services of the town. The place is very clean and dry. The interior features wooden floors, classic trim and framing, and pleasant interior decorating with a touch of class. A first floor restroom, a bright kitchen, and a laundry room provide practical convenience. Inviting and comfortable social areas are provided in a relatively large dining room and separate living room with carpeting, ample seating, and Cable TV & DVD player. The bath and three bedrooms are upstairs affording nice separation of space for privacy and social times. We found the host to be gracious, welcoming, and helpful. On the top of our list of nice cottages in the colonial beach region.

Old-fashioned Beach Vacation
Wonderful quaint cottage and location. Internet was not good, but the owner addressed that immediately. Jackie was available, very pleasant and extremely accommodating. Colonial Beach is not a hub for activities beyond the beach, but it was a great family time for puzzles & games on rainy days, beach/jet ski fun in the sun and just relaxing and talking. The wicker furniture on the front porch provided a great place for coffee and morning devotions for me while others slept in. It was perfect! I gave 4 stars only bc of the internet. Once that is corrected, it would get 5 stars. I'd highly recommend this rental.

Lovely Cottage
Our vacation was very relaxing. We had a great time. The only downside was the wifi didn't work so we didn't have a signal the whole time we were there. No cell phones, tablets or computers. We had to travel outside of the area to make calls. And with only 1 TV in the house it was interesting to say the least. So rest was what we all got. There at least be a landline in the house for emergencies. Thank you for having us.

Loved it!
We are accustomed to the NJ beaches, the boardwalk, and the hustle and bustle of vacationing there. Hawthorne Cottage and Colonial Beach were a welcome change and we enjoyed it completely! Our two little girls had the back bedroom to themselves and loved how cozy it was even tho they were away from home. We visited some great restaurants and the people in the town were all very friendly. The cottage is immaculate and close to the beach...we loved it! Jackie was great to deal with -thanks for a great vacation! We hope to be back again one day.
