Casita Brisa del Mar, or "little house of the ocean breeze," is a two bedroom, one bath home. This private single family residence is situated in a new development in the heart of the quaint seaside village of San Francisco, which the locals lovingly call San Pancho.

This charming casita features a spacious living area, full kitchen, two sizeable bedrooms (one with a queen size bed and the other with two twin size beds that can convert into a king) and a full bath with walk-in shower. The casita is furnished with genuine Mexican décor and folk art.

Relax, unwind and visit with friends on the secluded back patio with thatch overhang. The main floor opens out to a walled-in, private backyard filled with tropical plants, unheated dipping pool and outdoor shower, exclusive to our guests. The upstairs palapa offers shade as well as terrific views of the surrounding mountains, jungle and the town, the sweetest in Mexico if not all the world ...

Casita Brisa del Mar allows guests to enjoy a tranquil, tropical retreat or be immersed in the town's rich, vibrant culture. Just steps from shops, boutiques and some of the finest restaurants on the Mexican Riviera as well as a few short blocks to San Pancho's pristine beaches.

Fun stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it. We did not spend much time at the house but what time we did spend was enjoyable. Our toddlers loved the pool and outside area. The outdoor furniture was great; 4 lounge chairs, hammock and high-top table with four chairs, which are new. The location was perfect! We walked to the beach and around town. The shops, restaurants and cafes were all very close. The house is located on a quite street but second house in from the Main Street. There was a lot of construction down the way but it never impacted us. The house had good beach umbrellas, chairs and towels which was hugely helpful and awesome! San Pancho Management was great to work with; very proactive and friendly.

If I were to be critical, there was very little shower pressure and took a while to get warm. You are greeted by a mildew smell when you first walk into the house but it airs out quickly when the doors are open and fans turn on. The kitchen was ok but would not have wanted to make a big meal or entertained. With that said, the house has great pottery and dining set. These things did not bother us but can see them impacting others.

Cute place, great location, but smelled a bit moldy

  • 3 of 5

We loved the location and the place was cute. We loved the backyard. My only criticism is that the house had a very moldy smell which i guess is common in the area.

Great location, lovely house

  • 3 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in San Pancho and the house is located on a quiet street, not too far from restaurants, shops and the beach. It’s a great house with lots of potential. Unfortunately we had some communication issues with the company that manages the property. The owner tried hard to remendy these issue as fast as possible, which was greatly appreciated. We recommend this house but some things to be aware of are that the oven doesn’t work very well and that the kitchen isn’t very well stocked. Regardless of some annoying issues we had a lovely stay.

Great Host - Property Needs Maintenance

  • 3 of 5

First off I really appreciated the hosts responsiveness. The home has some mold issues but the host recognized this and worked with me to get me situated in another property quickly. I was only able to stay 1 night due to the intensity of the mold. I know properties in this area are affected by the humidity but with proper maintenance this could be a really great place. Thanks Brad for working with me... I really appreciate it. I hope the home gets the attention it needs. It is a great place.

Owner's Response: My house manager, who regularly inspects the home inside and out, assured me we don't have a mold issue. The home is constructed of concrete and rebar. There is no drywall to mold. My house manager had the home cleaned immediately ahead of the guest's arrival and could not provide me with a reason as to why the guest had an issue. Low season (May-Oct.) is a time when there is high humidity and moisture content in the air. Mustiness and mildew can be more likely issues in this area during low season. We have hosted other low season guests since this stay without issue.

Nice House but no Comfortable Furniture to Sit and Relax

  • 3 of 5

Great Location, clean, responsive manager, nice people, dipping pool is nice.

As stated by a recent review and I agree, my only complaint is in the living room there is only an old loveseat and a chair, neither of which were comfortable to even sit in and read a book... No TV , not such a big deal but the cost of a tv these days is nada and the living room furniture needs replacement badly....

Owner's Response: I sincerely regret you didn't enjoy your stay with us more. I'm in agreement about more comfortable living room furniture. There has been a reason for the seating. You would be surprised by the number of inquiries we receive to rent to parties of six, eight, even 10 or more people. Ours is just a modest two bed, one bath casita. Thus limiting accommodation to appropriate size parties is important for many reasons. I'm sure there are better ways to address this besides not having a comfy sofa one can sleep on, and we intend to upgrade our living room furniture within the coming weeks. We intentionally do not have a TV at the house. This is more for our preference of appreciating being fully present while relaxing in the little slice of paradise that is San Pancho. I want to avoid having to continually replace electronics regardless of how cheap they are.

Private and sweet

  • 4 of 5

The casita is a great little spot to stay in San Pancho. Close to town - easy walk to shops, restaurants, beach. Loved the private backyard and dipping pool. We got to see the Cirque de la Niño's show on our last night there. Only thing missing was comfortable seating - inside and out - and the roof top patio should be set up for those sunset happy hours. Great place - clean and well managed.
