Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + 2 Lofts, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Welcome to our cottage ... aptly named Livin' the Dream! Peaceful, tranquil, restful and relaxing describe the atmosphere at Livin' the Dream, a quaint and cozy 2 bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, 2 lofts and a huge covered deck with hammocks and hanging chairs overlooking the crystal Sea of Abaco. 2018 newly remodeled kitchen. Situated on nearly 2 acres, the cottage is out of site of any neighbors. The 500 foot winding drive will bring a smile to your face as you arrive at the cottage which sits directly on the Sea of Abaco. The southern exposure affords breathtaking sunrise views and the night sky is so clear, you'll be amazed at all the stars. From the deck, you can even see the spinning light from the Hope Town Light House.

With prevailing winds out of the East, Livin' the Dream typically enjoys tranquil breezes and calm seas. There's a sundeck that hangs over the Sea. When tides allow, lower a ladder from the sun deck for swimming and snorkeling right in the back yard.

For beachcombers, a brief 5 minute walk will lead you to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Abaco. Sea treasures abound on miles of pristine secluded beaches where seldom you will see another soul.

While at Livin' the Dream, your type of relaxation is up to you. Hang out at the cottage and pass time reading, soaking in the sun, resting in hammock or just by doing nothing. Or if you'd like a little more adventure, you have everything you need on the island from a full-service marina at Orchid Bay, to boat and golf cart rentals, a dive shop complete with guided diving and snorkeling tours, a grocery store, a hardware store and your choice of various restaurants, from casual sit-down dining to fun and funky beach bars.

Great Guana Cay is just a 30 minute ferry ride from Marsh Harbour. So time your flight arrival according to the ferry schedule. Be sure to stop in for a Tailcurler, a delightfully sweet rum concoction, at Curly Tails while waiting for your ferry! Check out our website for a host of photos, area information, ferry schedules and more! Thanks for visiting!

Livin' the dream was the perfect place for our family vacation! It is definitely gooder in Guana!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Guana, the house provided us with all the necessary accommodations and the location was just beautiful! The sunsets on the porch were amazing as we grilled our fresh catch and sipped on ice cold Kalik. Darvin was very helpful and responsive. We will definitely be back to Guana!

Consider this for your stay on Guana

  • 3 of 5

We loved the privacy and location. I communicated with the owner a couple times and he was REALLY HELPFUL!!! Craig is great! The reason for the 3 stars is for just a few issues and probably would have gotten 4 except for the first reason. First, the driveway is pretty rough. It is 500 feet of private driveway but it does need some smoothing out... I know that probably is not a cheap or easy thing to do out on Guana but it would go a LONG way to making impressions better. Second, the beds in the lofts are air mattresses. I may have been better aware of that had I asked detailed questions of Craig but alas I arrived with the expectation of actual beds in the lofts. Third, we didnt have access to an outdoor cooking arrangement. I haven't been to a VRBO rental where there wasn't one. Everything else is kind of what we expected. Fishing off the dock was fun! Dolphins swimming by within 20 feet which was cool! It was private, beautiful views, close enough to great stuff and accommodating enough for us to cook in a few nights. Food on the island is REALLY GOOD!!! YOU CAN WALK TO THE BEST RESTAURANT ON THE ISLAND- MERMAIDS which is brand new!!! That is cool!!! They make a Conch Chili that is surprisingly fantastic!!!! Their grouper sandwich is the best I have ever had!!!! All within walking distance! Nice place and you should stay there if you want some privacy. It could use some furniture updates and driveway smoothing all of which I know can be difficult to do. Anyway, thanks Craig for being so gracious! He has a neat place and it is definitely worth considering for a stay!

Owner's Response: Jim, thanks for the feedback. I'll get with Darvin (Caretaker) and work on the driveway and furniture updates. I haven't been there in 6 months, I'm headed over in two weeks and we'll create an update plan. Sorry about the BBQ's. We actually have two, gas and charcoal that should have been put out under the downstairs deck. Craig

Slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We spent 10 days at Living the dream doing what we enjoy which is fishing and relaxing from the rif raf of the city life. We did rent a boat from Marsh Harbor which was not cheap($3200. with fuel 26'twin) but if you want to enjoy the beautiful waters exploring & fishing it is a nasisaty. We caught grouper, sharks, mangrove snapper & mutton snapper. We also snorkeled for conch and made fresh conch ceviche which was awesome. The house was comfortable and had all amenities needed. The porch was great we had candle light dinners looking over the Sea of Abaco priceless. We fished and snorkeled right off the docked it was beautiful. If you seeking a small secluded but breath taking experience this is your place. Craig the owner was very easy to work with. I would like to give a shout out for Darvin your property Mgr. He was there for everything we needed Thank you!! Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with us.

Great family vacation at Livin' The Dream

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five (three children in their 20's) spent six great nights at Livin' The Dream. This was the perfect location and house for us. It was far enough from town for privacy but only took a few minutes to get there by golf cart. The porch was an awesome place to hang out morning, noon and night. We snorkeled and fished in the area in front of the house. We caught some small reef fish, but saw a lot of interesting marine life, like large rays and even a green moray. Craig, the owner was very helpful, and Darvin the property manager took care of all our needs. We would definitely stay there again.
