About this property

Historic Farmhouse and horsefarm with trail riding and a pond.

Our property is a beautifully restored and expanded farmhouse located on scenic Route 6 in northwestern Pennsylvania. The 4-bedroom, 4 1/2 bath farmhouse is located on a working horse farm that covers more than 100 acres. We also have a charming adjoining cabin and chalet, if needed, at additional cost. All accommodations are heated and cooled with our new geo thermal system. We have a sledding hill, a 1.5 mile finished trail great for cross country runs and also a small lake on the property too, perfect for swimming and canoeing. Guided horse back trail rides on our beautiful property are also available, weather permitting.

We rebuilt the Galloping Inn as a labor of love, with the vision of creating an ideal destination for social getaways, unique recreation and enjoyment of the environment. It’s really very special. The farmhouse dates back to the mid 1850's and is one of the oldest structures in the area. When we restored it, we did so with an eye for preservation, style and modern comfort.

The kitchen is awesome. Newly remodeled with all new appliances and features a large granite table that seats ten.

People have come here for many years to escape their everyday routine and to have a stress free experience. It’s a freestanding destination, meaning you can do just about anything you want. The location is very private and there is lots of space so if you share the place with other friends or families, you’ll have plenty of room to yourself. You can play some music, go for a hike, explore the nearby foothills, streams and lakes, cook a big meal, ride horses, whatever makes you happy. The thing everyone seems to appreciate most is the fresh air, freedom and comfortable warmth highlighted by our selection of top quality bedding.

We built a bar in the great room which is adjacent to the kitchen. There is an entertainment room upstairs which is a perfect place for the kids to watch movies (someone was really thinking there). There are two large decks off the back of the house where you can take in the evening sun. And the back lawn is large enough for your choice of outdoor games.

If you feel like doing some exploring, there are lots of things to do nearby. Within a 30 minute drive you can rent boats and cruise the waters of the Allegheny Reservoir, visit the charm of Chautauqua, or enjoy golfing the undulated hills of many great courses including Peek ‘n Peak.

For additional space, you can also rent the cabin, located across the driveway from the farmhouse. It sleeps four people and has a king bed, pullout couch, full bath and kitchenette. It also has a covered porch and overlooks the barn and stables. That rents for $295 for the weekend, $140 each additional night.
The Chalet, up the driveway about 1/8 mile from the farmhouse, overlooks the pond and is very comfortable and spacious. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, open concept kitchen and great room. The chalet rents for $675 a weekend and $250 each additional night.

Give us a call and we’ll tell you more about the place.

Memorable experience
Beautiful farm! We had a lovely stay with family, enjoying the horses and the eclipse!! It was a memorable time enhanced by the sweet surroundings and comfortable charming accommodations! The owners were fabulous to work with and the caretakers of the farm were wonderful too. They shared horse rides and conversation about the animals. Really enjoyed our time there! The beauty at the time of the eclipse was even more magical with the animals near by. We will be back😊 thank you!

Holiday Retreat
Our family spent the Thanksgiving holiday at this property. We rented both the house, sportsman and the cabin for 12 people and had plenty of space. The granite kitchen island is large enough for a group of people to gather and eat. There is plenty of bathrooms and sitting areas for all of us. The highlight of our stay was the grounds. Amazing! The horses and hiking trails was an added bonus to our "Hallmark Holiday"

Spacious Property
Great property with plenty of room inside and out. Very private and the owners were very responsive. We had a very rainy weekend but the space inside made it a nonissue. The outdoor space was perfect for kids of all ages. Hope to visit again.

Family Gatherings
The whole family enjoyed the property. Kids loved watching and petting the horses. Loved the pond swimming, fishing, canoeing and playing on the beach. The adults enjoyed the large deck at the chalet for evening gatherings. The large side porch at the farm house was great for our large family dinner. Communication with the owner was very efficient.

I first fell in love with the property when my husband and I were dating in 1999. We soon bought the chalet in 2000 and completed work on that. Then, In 2007, we bought the barn, the cabin and the farmhouse and put in the pond, trails and rebuilt the barn. I absolutely love the outdoors and it's been the perfect weekend and summer get away with our children and dogs. Every year we enjoy it more and more.

Why they chose this property

We originally visited this property when it was a bed and breakfast called Spring Valley. We loved the place so much, we later bought it and turned it into the Galloping Inn.

What makes this property unique

It's really just a great place to spend quality time together. Its a beautiful, peaceful setting with lots of room. We can accommodate large groups (up to 24 people) if you add on the cabin and chalet.
