TESTIMONIALS: We had a wonderful time this weekend. It felt like a home away from home. The location was great for us as we skied and snow boarded at Ascutney. The general store was great...MMMMM... Connor had a great 12th birthday and we had a great weekend. Thanks again.' -- The B. Family, CT.

'We had an absolutely wonderful time. The house was so cute and cozy. It was convenient to so many things which we missed the last time we came and stayed at the Ascutney Mountain resort. We got a lot of snow while we were there which made for great ski conditions. We also got in some sight seeing. Woodstock is a great little town... We look forward to making another trip to Vermont in the near future.'--Tara Z. & family, NJ.

'What a great place to stay - so comfy & homey. We had a wonderful time, spending snowy days in the village. Loved seeing the alpacas and eating at the Irish pub with the kids. Thanks for sharing your home .' -- Don & Sue S. & kids, MA.

Quaint house in Reading downtown
House is located in downtown Reading and accessible to Windsor and Woodstock. House has a very cozy feeling. Few things I think are important to note: water pressure is very weak and hot water as well. It was just my husband and I. We could not shower within hour if each other or no hot water. Our visit was short so it didn’t become a major problem. James was excellent when we called about my husband misplacing key. He ended up finding in 10 min but James was helpful and answered phone. This visit was for quick getaway and house served us well. I would recommend to anyone wanting a home near hiking and Woodstock.

This Old House
This could be a great house but it is in need of maintenance and renovations inside and out. It needs updating and curb appeal. The sheets, towels and couches needs to be replaced. The washing machine needs to be repaired the house also has very low water pressure. If you are truly needing a 4 bedroom be aware that the downstairs bedroom is in what was once a formal so whoever sleeps upstairs will be coming through your room to get the bathroom and any part of the house. A wall and a door could fix this easily. We only sleep in the downstairs and the bed was comfortable. The heating system worked well, the neighborhood is ok.

Why they chose this property

We love Vermont - especially this area. It is scenic, adventurous and filled with amenities all while maintaining the Green Mountain aesthetic. World-class skiing and an rich artistic history abound just outside this small village. This beautiful landscape has been painted by Metcalf, Hibbard, Saint-Gaudens, photographed by most major magazines, and been the site for several Hollywood movies. We can walk to the store and still hear the river from our porch. We can spend the day hiking a mountain and the evening in some of the best restaurants in the country.

What makes this property unique

Walk to river and conveniences of in-town while still surrounded by quiet beauty. Minutes from world-class skiiing and restaurants, but intelligently just off the beaten-track.
"Two paths converged in the wood and I, I took the one less travelled by. And it has made all the difference." Frost
