Five minutes will also get you to the center of downtown Estes Park. Most restaurants are within ten minutes and all of the fine dining within fifteen minutes of this property.

This 2700 square foot home sits at an elevation of 8200 feet at the base of Rams Horn Mountain. Natural beauty and Wilderness are right outside the door.

We have named our mountain house 'Dream Lake' after one of our favorite hiking trail stops. Hiking trails in Rocky Mountain National Park to Emerald Lake and Lake Haiyaha take us past Dream Lake.

Hi-def home theater with surround sound, Satellite, Netflix, movie library, DVR, DVD,VCR. Screen is 120' diagonal. Lots of entertainment here.

The theater has its own tv tuner,120 channels of satellite tv, This theater is very unique as you can view the mountains and wildlife while you are watching movies or TV!

Xbox 360 with controllers and games. Four rock band wireless guitars (including the Fender Mustang) with wireless drum set and key board.

Xbox 360 Kinect with games on a separate X-box console so you don't have to change connections.

We have about twenty video game titles at this time with all the popular rock band, Guitar hero, Halo,Kinect, and Wii games. Ask for a list.

We have vacationed all over and often rented homes to stay in, and those were our best vacation memories.

Why Gary Peak chose Estes Park

It's all about the view! This area of the Rockies is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and one of the few very beautiful locations that has year-round activities.

The location and convenience are a nice bonus, but the views were the main consideration in choosing this property.Every room, every window in this house has a great view. We looked for years at Estes Park and Grand lake for a second home that would be an investment and eventually a retirement home for us. We saw lots of properties with no nice view, or tiny windows, or neighbors too close,too small,or too 'inconvenient' to get to. This home is in a perfect, very quiet spot. Our neighbors are few, they are not close by, and do not spoil the view. Getting to the Park, the restaurants, and the shopping are easy from this location. On Summer weekends when the town is jammed with tourists, it is easy to bypass the traffic by using Peak View and Riverside drive.

We love to go hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and access to the park is quick and easy from this location. The drive to the Park from our property does not go through town and traffic is never an issue even on Summer weekends.

What makes this house unique

We have gone a bit overboard with guest amenities.

No vacation home has more entertainment options. The home theater with video games and movies will occupy the kids down stairs while the adults enjoy the view and 50 inch plasma tv upstairs.

We had a good time on our family vacation. At various times we had our four kids, their spouses and seven grandkids with us enjoying this very comfortable house. It is our joy to see the next generations enjoy and respect this mountain wonderland.

Everything was great - and we liked all the "new" additions - the new BBQ grill, the additional table on the deck, the new blender, and probably a few others I haven't mentioned. The new stairs are nice - and handsome, too - like the "tile" risers. And the pack and play was GREAT - thanks.

Once again thanks for making this available to us - we have already booked it for 2008!

A large capacity Maytag washer and large capacity Maytag dryer are for guests to use. Laundry soap, dryer sheets,oxy clean, Dreft, and fabric softener provided. An iron and ironing board are also in the laundry room.

Folding tables and chairs can extend the Dining table to seat 16. Some furniture will need to be moved to have one long table. We have matching china and silver to serve 16. The kitchen is well equipped with two toasters, two coffee makers, an espresso/cappuccino machine, coffee grinder, a microwave, blender, mixer, malt mixer, bread maker, donvier-style ice cream maker, two crock pots, one 8.5 qt, one 1.5 qt., rice cooker, and numerous pots, pans and utensils. another microwave is in the lower living area. In addition to our matching setting for 16, the property has plenty of everyday plates, silver, cups and glasses, etc. There are two gas grilles. One is steps away from the kitchen on the south deck. The other grill is located on the lower level covered flagstone patio. This grill gets little use but is very nice to have if it rains.

This was a perfect place for our family of ten for a family vacation!! The house had plenty of room and the back and front porches were great to hang out! Hot tub was really nice after hiking! And stocked kitchen was great! Highly recommend this home!

Owner's Response: Thank you for a great review of our home! Our cleaning gal has great pride in her work, and we love it when guests comment on how clean the house is. Glad you enjoyed the hot tub. It makes a perfect end to a day of hiking in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park. The kitchen is stocked with the idea that you don't need to run to the store every ten minutes, and you can make a meal from what is in the cupboards with little effort. Some gluten free items are on the shelf and unless someone leaves food behind, no high fructose corn syrup in any ingredients. There are boxes of Kraft Mac and cheese and PB&J ingredients if the kids get hungry. Come back for another great vacation! Gary

Fabulous Home and Location

The amenities were incredible, and everything was in perfect condition. Anything any family could need was provided; including some items we would never have thought of. The number of towels and dishes available was amazing. The was more than enough room for our family gathering of 10. All five bedrooms were good sizes and there were three full baths. The kids loved the XBox garage band equipment. We all enjoyed the outdoor deck and the views of nature and solitude it offered. Deer were frequently seen in the yard. It is the perfect location to enjoy both Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. We can't wait to return!!

Favorite family vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Our combined family of 9 fit comfortably in this extremely well-stocked home with everything you could think of. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the large back deck with animal sightings daily. At night we would relax under the stars in the hot tub and listen to the sounds of crickets. This home is well situated to all that Estes Park has to offer. Gary is the perfect host and we would highly recommend this property for your stay in Estes Park!

Well equipped

Without a doubt this was the most well quipped VRBO we've ever rented. At every turn we saw how someone had tried to anticipate a guest need and made every effort to meet it before they called to request it. We already have planned to book it for next year . Can't imagine a more well suited place for our needs. I, personally, would like the AC to be at 72 or 71 instead of 73. Just a small aside. I also would like, as a remodeling contractor, to see the exhaust fans in the bathrooms upgraded to the new quiet, and high efficiency units that have at lease 120 cfm capacity. Panasonic has a good line up. Also put a timer on the fan switch so the last person using the can is able to exhaust the moisture and odor before the next person is wanting to use it.

Thanks again for the accomidations. Plan on booking it again tomorrow for the week of the 22nd of June.

Love this property

Our family has stayed at this property several times. It is by far our favorite! It has the best stocked kitchen in Estes! It is quiet and private with a beautiful view of Mary's Lake. The hot tub is large and very clean. There are plenty of comfortable beds, enough for up to 12 people. The property owner cares about his guests and is available for maintenance if necessary. Prior to our stay we were mailed maps of Rocky Mountain National Park, multiple brochures of activities around Estes, as well as instructions for finding or operating anything we may have needed during our stay. Rock Band and the Theater was a hit with the kids with plenty of movies to choose from. We will definitely stay at this property again!

Perfect location for an amazing vacation

Our house was in a perfect location for our inter generational vacation. We hiked every day in RMNP. In our front yard, we were visited by mule deer; elk, hummingbirds, and chipmunks. We watched a bobcat run down the road.

Inside, the house was extremely well equipped with every kitchen gadget, spice, and appliance. We played several of the provided games. We used the hiking sticks, coolers, and camp chairs. The hot tub was a bonus luxury after hiking. We made wonderful memories.

This home is 2.9 miles from the center of Estes Park. Music, Art and festivals along with great shopping and dining are minutes away. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is 2.5 miles with its Hiking, wildlife, and sight seeing.

Mary's lake shore is about 1200 feet away. Mary's Lake Campground is about 2500 feet, and Mary's Lake Lodge about a mile by car around the south side of the lake. Mary's Lake Lodge has excellent dining.

We are on over an acre in an area where most properties are an acre or more. Our neighbors are mostly hidden from view by the trees and rock outcroppings.

It is very private, but not remote.

Bureau of Land Management public land is four hundred feet from our driveway. You can hike and explore for miles on Rams Horn Mountain and Giant Track Mountain.

Estes Park's 18 hole Golf course clubhouse is three miles from our driveway. The nine hole course is about four and a half miles away.
