Your vacation destination includes your choice of 5 bedroom home to easily accommodate you and your friends! The 125 acre Harvey Lake boasts some of the best fishing and water activities around. Of course, the home includes a fully equipped kitchen, linens and baths. On the property you’ll have access to a sandy beach and a boat launch is just a short drive around the corner. The 5 bedroom home offers what you would expect in a 200 year old historic building, including the rustic feel of an antique home with its’ hand hewn beams.

You will find plenty to do including visiting arts and crafts shops and New Hampshire’s famous “Antique Alley”. This home is located in the center of what ENDLESS VACATION MAGAZINE recently featured on their cover as one of the 5 GREAT DRIVES IN AMERICA. (The others are located in Washington, Hawaii, New Mexico and Missouri). Northwood is central to many of the New Hampshire activities you want including the White Mountains, Lakes Region and the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll want to finish your day at some of the greatest restaurants around, including those in either Portsmouth or Concord!

Whether it’s taking a hike, visiting the factory outlets of Tilton or just watching the water from your front porch, you’ll have a great time in and around the Northwood area.

Good value, easygoing vacation , great hosts!
We were 2 couples, 3 young adult singles and one child. There are 7 bedrooms. All the singles and the child had their own private bedroom! The house is quite old with some newer renovations. The ceilings are low in spots and the stairs are steep and narrow. I would not recommend this house for those with balance or mobility issues. There was plenty of seating.

Good value but too near a main road
Lots of room for extended family gathering for a wedding nearby. Kitchen was well equipped. A dozen hooks in the bedrooms and upstairs bathroom would be good, no where to hang anything including wet towels

Great house for big family gathering.
With 6 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a modern kitchen, large dining room, large laundry room, 2 bathrooms, a screened in porch and large deck, this house always had plenty of room for all our activities. The Sandy beach with its paddle boat, 7 kayaks, and lounge chairs was a great way to start our days during a very hot summer. Kayak trips to the island for lunch were a fun highlight. The friendliness of Nancy and Lee with their helpful information made our whole experience delightful. There are very good restaurants and children’s activities within 15 minutes of the house, so much available to enjoy every day. Looking from the deck to the lake and seeing two great blue herons on the dock was a special treat!

Lovely time making memories!
Nancy was a joy, very helpful and attentive, made us feel very welcome. The kitchen was recently updated and great, plenty of room to store stuff. Most rooms had air conditioning which was very needed the two weeks we were there and the house amazingly stayed cool, that is unexpected for a house this old. Some things I want to mention just to help people , again the stay was great. The traffic can be loud, bring a white noise thing. The stairs to the bedrooms are sturdy but not standard for these days and can be difficult for people with mobility issues. The fire pit was on the other side of a cottage so we never used it. The lake entrance is shared with the cottages and had a great sandy beach and entrance into the water was great, with or without lake shoes. Swimming was great no issues with weeds or fish. There was a big turtle but he stayed his distance <3 I would recommend the big house for a great family vacation. Oh the porch was our favorite it had sun all day long!

Great Family Vacation
The house was great. Plenty of bedrooms for my family of 12. There were more then enough eating spots for the family to enjoy meals together. The lake was perfect for kayaking and fishing. The fishing was great, everyone caught at least 3 fish. The kitchen updates made cooking for everyone so easy. The grill is in good shape and work well. Nancy and Lee were the best hosts I've ever dealt with; they greeted us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. My family and I will definitely be back!

We purchased this property a couple of years ago with the intent of using it as both a retreat for ourselves and something that we could share with others. We both work full-time jobs (Lee is a pharmacist, Nancy works for the postal service), and spend our free time in Northwood. This lake property allows us a release from the day to day activities. We find that as soon as we arrive, our excitement builds about the next boat ride, swim in the beach, or cookout. We've enjoyed many gathering with old friends and new and find Harvey Lake to be the best place anywhere to make our new memories!

Why they chose this property

We chose Harvey Lake because of it's central location to the Mountains, Lakes Region, Portsmouth and Concord. You can't find a nicer location if you want to take advantage of all that New Hampshire has to offer. Our home is located in the center of 'Antique Alley'. New Hampshire is rich with history, so having a chance to take a look at many of the items used at any of the 100+ shops is a lot of fun to us. Perhaps the most important reason we chose this property was the size of the lake. Harvey Lake is just 125 acres. This is large enough to use a powerboat, yet small enough to feel comfortable using a kayak or canoe. The larger lakes often have large amounts of boating traffic. In the years we've had the property, it's rare to see more than 3 boats on the lake at a time. It's absolutely fantastic!

What makes this property unique

Harvey Lake is located nearly center between the ocean (Portsmouth), the State Capital (Concord) and the largest lake in the state (Winnipesaukee). On the property you can have a campfire, go boating, fishing, swimming or just relaxing in the sun! Nearby you'll find great hiking and areas for the family picnic lunch. Later in the day, take a short trip to buy lobsters or visit many of the fine resteraunts.
