Pleasant little spot
First time in Pittenweem. The flat was small but we didn’t need anything bigger. Space had been used carefully and was well furnished. When the wood burning stove got going it made for a cosy experience. Pleasant seafront area nearby and Anstruther is only half a mile or so away. St. Andrews is about 20 minutes by car. Well worth a short visit (three nights for us).

Enjoyable Stay
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, tips on how too get the most out of the wood burner would have been good and an explanation on how heating worked.

Lovely Pittenweem
We love Pittenweem. The Kirkgate Cottage is right around the corner from High Street, just a few steps to two cafes, two pubs, an upscale restaurant, pharmacy/grocery and several art galleries. It's a perfect location for walking the Fife Coastal Path or catching a bus.

Lovely cottage
The cottage was spotless, bed was very comfortable, lovely shower, very quiet area. A small dining table would have been welcome ( the folded one in the kitchen is wobbly) and there’s not much room in the kitchen for cooking but it’s a nice place for a short break.

Lovely comfortable well equipped cottage
Lovely comfortable cottage, good location and quality amenities and facilities in the cottage however not suitable for people with walking difficulties, elderly or people who are unsteady on your feet due to the steep narrow stairs.

We are Cathy & Douglas and have recently retired so enjoying all the change of lifestyle has to offer!
We have been enjoying travelling abroad in our Motorhome since retiring and when not on the road we are in Edinburgh.... or Pittenweem!
We love Pittenweem and the surrounding villages and of course always manage a wee visit to St Andrews for a spot of shopping and a long walk on the beach.
We have a Cocker Spaniel - Bella who loves the Fife Coastal Path and keeps us fit.

Why they chose this property

We just loved the quirkiness of Kirkgate and the fact that it was for two. We wanted a bolthole that wasn't too far away, was modern and relaxing and after doing a fair bit of work on the cottage we hope we've achieved that.
My surname is Kirk and the fact that the cottage was already named Kirkgate Cottage and is on Kirkgate was an added bonus!!!! Haha....

What makes this property unique

Quiet and relaxing with all mod cons and a lovely roll top bath in the bedroom to have a soak after a long walk on the Coastal Path.
