Two nights in Venezia
Overall, good experience. Giacobo met us at the train station and showed us to the place. It took about 10 minutes to walk there, but we had to carry our bags over about 3 canals. Not too big a deal, except we were tired from running around Rome. The flat was a bit small, but more than adequate for our group of 4 adults. It has been currently refurbished with stylish tile in the kitchen and modern touches everywhere. Fridge, microwave, washer and dryer, gas stove and central heating. Overall, a cozy but great apartment. The single bathroom was next to the kitchen. To get to the 2 bedrooms you have to climb a set of 6 stairs. Both rooms had double beds although one of them is a pull-out. We encountered 3 small issues: Both bedrooms have pocket doors. One was difficult to pull out. The second knocked off a piece of baseboard moulding if you closed it all the way. These issues were brought up to the landlord. Both can be fixed with a bit if wood glue and some silicone spray. The last issue is a little trickier due to this being in Venice. The wifi service is not hardwired so it waxes and wanes. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker. We enjoyed our stay and will use this place again if we ever return.
