101 locations in one for a love story or a Tarzan movie. Rent the mansion with its whole five-acre Estate. Great for any type of production, event, or wedding.

This one-of-a-kind Estate features an expansive lawn, terraced gardens, rock waterfalls, a natural spring pond, hiking trails, and romantic gazebos with stunning canyon vistas. Film crews have multiple backgrounds to choose from: tropical, jungle, steep hills, terraces, hidden gardens, caves, rock passages, cliffs, and more.

The Estate still has the deep-water tank where Houdini reportedly practiced his underwater escapes. This private property and its gardens boast numerous modern amenities while maintaining the grand mystique and marvel of the famous magician. Features include high-speed Internet, satellite television, outdoor fireplaces, barbecue patios, five gazebos, three water fountains, a heated pool, an outdoor spa, and more.

The property’s main house has two stories and four bedrooms. A master suite features a carved marble mantelpiece and a spacious bathroom with a whirlpool tub. There are three bathrooms plus five outdoor ones, an ample living room next to the dining area, an open-plan kitchen, greenrooms, a wardrobe, and a makeup area. There is easy loading and storage space for equipment.

The fenced and gated Estate is ultra-private and four minutes from Sunset Strip, nine minutes from Beverly Hills, and twelve minutes from Universal Studios.

We only provide the property, so you’re welcome to bring your own caterers, drinks, equipment, and props. We’re also happy to make suggestions and help you plan. Please note that outdoor noise of moderate volume is allowed until 10:00 p.m. per city ordinance; indoors until 2:00 a.m.

We charge $100 to your group to send somebody knowledgeable about the Estate to open and explain the property. Your $100 payment is donated entirely to an IRS-recognized charity; you will also receive a credit of $100 toward your rent with our compliments if you book at the showing.

EXTENSIONS
Extending your rental beyond the originally agreed-upon checkout date requires a surcharge: 20% for the first extension, 30% for the second, and 40% thereafter.

SHOWINGS
The owner may need to show the property to potential renters during your stay. It is agreed that you will allow the showings at a mutually agreed day and time. $100 will be credited to your bill, with our gratitude.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
The maximum number of people allowed on The Houdini Estate for vacation stays is 15. Because of this, we need a $5,000 to $10,000 (depending on the length of stay) refundable security deposit to prevent unauthorized gatherings and pay for utilities if your stay is over 1 week.
If more than 15 people are on the property at any time, there is a penalty of $250 per person, starting with the 16th person. So if 20 people are on the property, we charge $250 x 5 = $1,250, etc. The balance of the deposit is promptly refunded to you.

Beyond Our Expectations
This was a once in a life time property that our family and friends were thoroughly impressed with. The details and presentation of this property are incredible. The team was great to work with and we had no issues throughout our stay. We would highly recommend staying at the Houdini Estate!

Tuscany in Los Angeles
We were planning on a family gathering for the holidays in Oct 2016 and we scheduled a tour at the Estate. We were told the tour will cost $100 and the company will donated to a charity foundation by the company. We have no problem with it. We were also told if we make a booking during the tour we will have the $100 back plus another $100 as appreciation to our account. Woo!!! which company will do that. We took the tour and the weather was so perfect on the day we took the tour and the tour coordinator, Hazel was fantastic and easy going and very knowledgable and be able to answer all our questions like pricing, availability and thing we can and cannot do etc...... everything is so nice up there n free and fresh up there. And the tour was perfect. We ended up booking our stay at the estate.

Houdini Estate's Stood Up to Their Reviews.
Houdini Estate's stood up to their reviews. Lori the caretaker was very friendly and super accommdating. Lori, the well manicured grounds and the kitchen are the reasons for 5 stars. The place is very well kept, not the best venue for parking, yet Lori came to the rescue. I simply loved the grounds and would recommend it for some types of event not all types as long as the weather is nice. They have a very nice restroom near the grounds and two more inside the house. The Mansion burned down in 1959. I would strongly suggest you do a walk through before booking it for your event. It would be good to take the caterer along on the walk through. It was a peaceful Vibe and the grounds once decorated were lovely. They have a lot of interesting things to see on the grounds and take pictures of. Fact: you must take the trash with you and and purchase insurance in order to have an event there. There are lots of stairs to walk down to the main grounds. SERVERS have to park down the way on the other side of the street and CROSS LAUREL CANYON(wow scary) Other than that it was a beautiful event! Clean up is very high maintenance.
