About this property

Gîte HG2M - Pondichery - dans parc de sculptures - in a sculpture park

HG2M is a renovated farmhouse, surrounded by a sculpture park of Contemporary Art.
Two entirely new and independent gites are created there for the lovers of the nature and the Art.

PONDICHERY and ZANZIBAR are two elegant gites uniquely situated in a converted 18th century farmhouse that is set within a private contemporary sculpture park close to the River Seine.

Each cottage is a duplex consisting of 2 rooms to accommodate 4 people. Each is equipped with a bedroom with bathroom (walk-in shower) and a living room: living room + kitchen. The kitchenette is functional, fully equipped.
Sleeping: double bed (160 cm / 140 cm) plus two independent sofa beds 1 person.
Wifi / TV / satellite connection C Astra (with your own decoder)
The 2 cottages have an independent entrance and an extra large bay opening onto the garden.
The parking is integrated in the garden.
The decoration is particularly neat and "arty". Change of scenery: sweet colors for PONDICHERY and spicy for ZANZIBAR.
You have direct access to the sculpture park, space of 1. 8 ha fully enclosed. You can walk there, relax and admire the sculptures, some monumental.
The rural path is at the end of the park. You can go to the Seine on foot or by mountain bike. The future "greenway" Paris-Honfleur / Deauville will pass nearby.
You are 13 km from Giverny, 53 km from Rouen, 90km from Paris, 125 km from Deauville.
Many sporting activities (horse riding, swimming pool, etc.) and cultural activities are available nearby.

Re-energize in this bucolic space and come to meet Contemporary Art.
Perfect for a couple with 1-2 children

The cottages have been lovingly crafted with a simple, sophisticated taste and are perfect for lovers of art and nature. The property is calm and tranquil, nestling in a quiet Normandy village of Port-Mort, and yet it is only 45 minutes from Rouen, 25 minutes from Monet's Giverny and 1 hour from Paris.
Each cottage is a duplex that can accommodate four guests with an open plan living room and kitchen that faces the garden plus an upstairs bedroom with en suite bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking pans, ceramic hobs, a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and refrigerator. The dining area has a table with four chairs. The bedroom has a large double bed. Each cottage has its own Wifi, CAstra TV decoder and parking space.
The interior design of the properties is distinctive and arty, with PONDICHERY having a soft palette while ZANZIBAR's color scheme was inspired by spices.
The private sculpture park covers 1. 8 hectares and features monumental pieces that can be enjoyed by guests. The park's open spaces can be freely explored and provide a wonderful environment for play, relaxation, inspiration and photography. Mature trees provide shade with benches to sit and read. Throughout the day there are birdsong and the scent of flowers while in the evening there is an uninterrupted view of the sun setting.
Beyond the park There are fields with horses. A country lane crosses the river and is accessible for cycling or strolling along the River Seine.
The area offers excellent opportunities for horseback riding, swimming, cycling and hiking. Rouen, Giverny and Paris are famous for their traditional food and markets.
The gites of Port-Mort provide an accessible but secluded opportunity to relax in nature while enjoying a memorable encounter with contemporary art. Ideal for couples or families with 1or 2 children.

Amazing Gite and Host
The description in the property ad does not do it justice. The building with two apartments stands at the edge of a huge meadow. It took me about 10 minutes for a leisurely walk to the far end; on the other side of a fence there are fields, and on their other side the Seine. Sculptures are scattered throughout the park. I enjoyed exploring them during early morning and early evening strolls. Our apartment was sparkling new, evidently a recent renovation of an old farm building. Parking is easy, inside the park walls. We stayed in this location in order to visit Giverny, and were surprised to find a number of other pretty and interesting sites. If your goal is Giverny, I recommend adding a second day to explore the neighboring countryside. Monique is a marvellous and generous host. We needed to package a fencing foil (European family heirloom) to qualify as checkable luggage on the USA-bound return flight. Monique and M. Jacques proposed to use PVC pipe. They found pipe, cut it to size, and washed it. The resulting package worked perfectly. We have stayed with excellent hosts, but none who went to such trouble to be helpful.
