Le Mas Charpin is located in the South Luberon, attached to the commune of Puyvert. Lourmarin is 2 km away.
Lauris and Cadenet are also very close.
Description:
About three quarters of an hour separate us from Marseille and its airport, Aix en Provence or Avignon, and their TGV stations or even the sea and a sailboat ...
A few minutes to be in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in France: Lourmarin or Gordes, Ménerbes or Ansouis and their famous markets.
A supermarket is less than a kilometer away, tennis, horse riding or golf are nearby, yet total calm surrounds the property.
It is reached by a private road bordered by cypresses and oaks, then by an avenue of lime trees among the vines.
At the heart of the vineyard - classified AOC - and at the edge of its large lawns shaded by centenary trees, cedars, pines and oaks, the Mas Charpin, an old magnaneraie from the 17th century, offers a clear view of the Luberon mountains.
Hidden in the English garden, a stone staircase connects the south courtyard-terrace to the large secure swimming pool (7 X 13), designed like a Provençal pool. Its old shed shelters deckchairs and swimming pool mattresses.
The house has kept its Provençal character, terracotta floors, old ceilings and its plaster fireplace.
We enter through the south terrace, the house was decorated by the antique owners in Paris. Antique furniture mixes with modern, Art Deco and contemporary furniture.
In the living room, many books in French and English, discs and various films are next to the TV corner.
The dining room opens onto the terrace and the garden. The recently renovated kitchen is very well equipped.
An Art Nouveau bathroom and separate toilets open their windows onto the vineyards
At the top of the old staircase, a landing serves the large bedrooms:
-the bedroom with Art-Deco furniture - 1.60m bed - with two windows on the south
-the bedroom with a very high Provençal ceiling - 1.60m bed - also houses a mezzanine - two 0.90m beds - and opens through a French window onto the garden in the rising sun
-the bathroom: shower, and toilet opens on the hills.
Completely independent, one reaches the "blue" room by an external stone staircase - 1.40m bed - furniture and tapestry from the 1940s.
At sunset, when silence replaces the song of the cicadas, you have to leave the shade of the mulberry trees of the south courtyard-terrace for the almond-tree courtyard and enjoy on the bench and the old seats the last rays of the sun on the surrounding vineyard.
At nightfall, the song of crickets in the countryside will be heard, the swimming pool will be highlighted by the multiple lighting of the garden. Around midnight, the automatic watering system will supply the regenerating water to the green setting.
