About this property

A Peaceful And Picturesque Island Home With Stunning Sea Views And Vast Moors

The house is a large, 4 bedroom family home incorporating 2 king rooms (one en-suite), a double bedroom and a large room with two single beds.

The grand lounge has a wood burning stove, reading corner and stunning views of the moor, ocean and village.

The dining room has a large, solid wood, 10 seater dining table made from the reclaimed railway sleepers from St. Pancras station when it was renovated to make room for the EuroStar terminal.

The kitchen is large and modern and there is a utility area and internal drying space for clothes or wet walkers/fisherman/adventurers.

The large, gallery hallway, is also a great space to grab a book and read in silence.

All our bedrooms and our dining room and snug are equipped with digital HD televisions.

There is a large bathroom with a walk in shower and slipper bath which also looks out over the ocean and loch.

There is a toilet located on the ground floor as well.

Outside the property there are 4 distinct garden zones. There is the large lawn suitable for a whole host of your own sports adventures or relaxing in the sun and breathing in the refreshing sea air.

There is a fenced area which acts as a sun trap on warm days. It includes a rare example of a Monkey Puzzle tree, our kennels and wood store and the designated smoking area (our property is non-smoking throughout including e-cigarettes).

Then there is our vegetable patch. Here we grow our own potatoes, carrots, herbs and rhubarb. Finally there is the old croft. This area, uniquely preserved, has the ruins of old croft buildings that you can explore and also, usually, has a friendly sheep or two that would enjoy a slide of toast in the morning or, their favourite, a donut (plain!).

We do allow dogs but we do restrict them to certain parts of the property eg the kennels, garage, utility area, kitchen and dining area.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO AVAILABILITY OF STAFF WE CANNOT ALLOW CHECK IN BEFORE 4PM AND CHECK OUT IS STRICTLY 10AM

The house is the perfect place to leapfrog into an amazing island holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life. You will feel the total relaxation and isolation our house offers you.

Stunning. Couldn’t have been better.
A lovely big property with stunning views and plenty space. This has got to be one of the best stocked holiday rentals, it felt like a home from home. We were 4 friends travelling together and it was perfect for our weekend together and to enjoy some individual time out. The location was great. The welcome gift was a lovely touch.

long weekend
perfect stay! House is amazing - so comfortable and well equipped. Great base for Lewis and Harris exploring and really handy to be so close to Stornoway on a good road. Loads of space and things to do in the house, and wonderful view over the loch and sea.

Great base to explore Harris & Lewis
Loved this property and location. Very comfortable home away from home, well equipped, lots of space and lovely views to the Atlantic. We enjoyed exploring this north-west corner of Lewis from cliff top walks with nesting birds at the lighthouse at Butt of Lewis with waves crashing over the rocks, to the Callanish standing stones, to the black house at Arnol, and many more ancient sites. We made day trips to Harris and enjoyed the spectacular mountain, sea and beach views at Luskentyre and Scarista, and had a windy and awesome 9 holes of golf at the fabulous Isle of Harris golf club. Highly recommend this holiday rental!
