Fantastic location and great apartment

  • 5 of 5

Traveling with my young daughter and my retired mother, this apartment made an excellent location for us to easily explore Paris. Very close to the Louvre and metro, with a wonderful boulangerie and market 30 seconds from the front door. The apartment was very well stocked with most everything we needed and the hosts were responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this apartment for a trip to Paris and would surely stay at Palais-Royal again.

Location location location...thats it!

  • 3 of 5

There is no doubt this is a perfect location on one of the best streets in Paris. Lovely bakery next door and Caffefoure Express directly opposite. The apartment howver is let down by the owners general disdain for furnishings and decor. The check in procedure was a pain. They say to meet outside a location, but the apartment is acoss the otherside of the road. The check in lady actually watched us walk by with 4 heavy case past her without saying a word. 10 mins later she came into where we were waitingto find us. C’mon guys, at least pre warn people who they should be looking for. However by far the most disgusting issue (aside from the freezer compartment which was solid ice) was the stench from the toilet. No matter what we did we could get rid of the smell - drain cleaner, Chanel No5 - nothing helped. It was a really strange sour smell, not like normal sewage, too large gulps of air in that toilet and you were ready to vomit.

Owner's Response: Dear William, thank you for your feedback. We are very pleased to know you enjoyed the great location of our apartment. As indicated in your confirmation email, the address provided was the meeting point for the key pickup. We did not mean to deceive you by any means and are sorry for any misunderstandings. We do apologize for the smells you found coming from the sewage system. This has been investigated by a professional plumber and is now fixed. If we somehow seemed unapproachable, we apologize. We are here to make your stay better. With a quick phone call or email, you can signal any issue to us, and we can usually fix most problems while you’re out enjoying yourself in the city. We hope that the rest of your travels went well and that you'll be in touch the next time you visit Paris so that we may give you a returning-guest discount. All the best until then.

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

Great location and comfortable living room. Bedroom is quite small and not much light. Overall apartment needs some updating. Shower did not function well (only scalding water notwithstanding the fact that the repairman came), some peeling paint and mold on ceiling of shower. There is a convenient small supermarket across the street but that does result in quite a bit of noise during morning deliveries.

Check-in was appalling due to unacceptably rude woman called Caroline who, I am sure, does not reflect the company which otherwise was responsive and pleasant. Warning that for some reason, one is expected to pay cash for the balance due on the rental!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your feedback Marianne. We would like to apologize that the level of cleanliness and maintenance of the bathroom upon your arrival did not meet our own high standards. We have given the flat a thorough cleaning and performed some general works and we believe you would be pleased with the end results. We understand that the cash balance payment came as a surprise to you however this is advertised on the website prior to submitting your reservation and stated in your confirmation email after processing your booking. We apologize that your check-in did not go as smooth as expected, this has already been addressed. We do hope you will give us a second chance on a future visit so that you may see the improvements we have made.

"Look at our new apartment in Paris!"

  • 5 of 5

That's what it feels like: Moving in to a 1B/1b flat in the First Arrondissement, just a block or so from the Tuileries and the Louvre, a few blocks from the Opera, and on the same street with fashion-house stores including Chanel (under construction), MaxMara, Theory, Miu Miu, Colette, Hermes, St. Laurent, etc... At the same time, except for the fashion shoppers, it's just far enough away from Rue de Rivoli and the souvenir shops to feel 'moved-in' as residents rather than to feel as tourists. The flat itself is one flight of stairs up, has white walls and wood-tone floor with plenty of light through opening walk-through windows (including a corner wall with windows in the kitchen/dining area), and can function as two bedrooms when counting the fold-out couch in the living room. For our "April in Paris" week, it provided a safe haven and extremely convenient location from which to enjoy "Paris in the Springtime", including late-night supplies and nourishment from the quick-market store across the street. About the only odd thing was getting used to having a washer-dryer where the toilet normally should be, and having the toilet in a tight closet across the hall. ...but, Hey!, did I mention that it even has a washer-dryer?! We had a great week.

All the Comforts of Home – in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

There are so many reasons why we fell in love with this apartment. Its location on rue Saint Honoré, just steps from the Louvre, the Tuileries and Concorde is really hard to beat in Paris. Most of the accommodations in this area are expensive 5 star hotels so to have the opportunity to stay in an apartment in such a chic district is a treat. The apartment is spacious with an intelligent layout and maximized use of space. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, which is nice when traveling with more than 1 other person. The sofa bed is brand new and very comfortable. There are tons of windows in the living and kitchen area bringing in lots of light and the life from the streets below. We were met by David, Paul’s assistant who gave us a walk through, the Wi-Fi passwords and lots of advice about his personal favourites in Paris. We cannot thank them enough!

Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful apartment! My family of 4 (including 2 children) just returned from a 6-day stay. Yanick met us at the apartment and was so helpful with all of the directions and details. He was extremely friendly! It was exactly as described in the listing, and as you see in the photos, but turned out even better than we had expected. The location, of course, was exceptional, as we were able to walk to many of the "must see" places.....The Louvre, Jardin des Tuileries, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, Eiffel Tower, etc. The apartment was also steps away from bus/ metro/taxis stops. We loved the small (but VERY well stocked market) directly across the street. We stopped in each morning to buy groceries - they have fresh baguettes, fruit, wine, cheese, etc. and then enjoyed coffee and breakfast in the apt. while watching the streets come alive right below us! There are also several ATM's (best way to get cash, don't to to the exchange places, they'll rip you off) nearby, & a delightful patisserie/bakery two doors away. My favorite part.........Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Balenciaga, Theory & Escada on the same street as the apartment! The Apartment itself was exceptionally well equipped, the bathroom had tons of storage, a large shower, MANY hooks for hanging things, a HUGE closet in the bedroom with lots of drawers, hanging space, luxurious linens and more. The bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. We will certainly be recommending this to others. This offers so much more space and value for the money than a hotel. Can't wait to come back.
