About Marian Sheedy

We both grew up in this area and built Fuschia cottage as our home in 1995 when we got married. We lived here for several years until we moved nearby to another house. We both have worked in the catering business since college and currently run Roadford House Restaurant in Doolin village. We have two children - Blathnaid and Jack, a dog called Beans

We enjoy guests coming to our home and make every effort to ensure their holiday in one to remember. Several guests return year after year so they are now family friends.

What makes this house unique

Amazing views of the ever changing ocean and weather. Rural setting with wonderful walks right outside the gate, patio where one can experience the most amazing sunsets. Owners always nearby to lend a hand or give advice on best things to do. Complimentary hi speed wifi.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our 4th stay at Fuschia cottage. Wonderful. We love the cottage and the Roadford House Restaurant. We enjoy Doolin and the rest of Clare and look forward to our return next year.

Amazing Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely amazing property with breathtaking views and all the comforts of home. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the cottage, it’s location, or the amenities. If you’re looking for a home away from home while traveling then this is the place. Frank and Marian are great people who were extremely helpful in detailing the area. This cottage is a must stay!

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

The Fuschia Cottage exceeded our wildest expectations during our week in Doolin! The cottage boasts panoramic views of the countryside, the ocean, the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Burren to the south and the beginnings of the Burren to the North. It was comfortable, charming, and cozy with absolutely every detail taken care. This 'Irish cottage' was spacious with four bedrooms, kitchen, living room and sunroom which allowed us to settle in during our week there. Marian and Frank were cheerful, courteous and incredibly easy to deal with. To top it off, we were even welcomed with a basket of Frank's homemade scones, brown bread and candy when we checked in. This is an absolute winner!!!

Mother Daughter trip

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Fuchsia House was nothing short of wonderful. The house its self is beautiful, the beds were SOOOOO comfy and the scenery breathtaking. On one side you have the Cliffs of Moher and right out the front is a view of the ocean and the Aran Islands.

Thank you to the Sheedys for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be coming back!

Very nice property, wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Fuschia cottage for 2 weeks. Property is very nice and we had a wonderful stay. Owners are great. If we needed anything they were very responsive. You will not go wrong staying at this property. If we vacation in this area of Ireland again we will definitely stay in Fuschia Cottage. All pictures are very accurate, location is good, amenities good, property very clean and well maintained. Overall an A+ grade.

I have stayed at the lovely Fuschia Cottage for a week the past 5 years.. Each year we travel other places as well. We have seen nearly all of Ireland in our travels, but I can honestly say that Doolin and Fuschia Cottage are by far our favorite. Obviously..we keep coming back! The owners have become like family and are always available for whatever we need. Not to mention a great meal at The Roadford House which they also own. The views from the house rival any we've seen in all of Ireland. I have recommended Doolin and Fuschia Cottage to anyone I know traveling to Ireland. We are all booked for year 6!
