Life-long Alaskans. We love Alaska, and look forward to sharing our special piece of Alaska heaven with you.
8 Star Alaska purchased this chalet in 2007
The Kenai Peninsula has it all - mountains, rivers, lakes, ocean, glaciers, wildlife -everything you've come to Alaska to see and do. Grew-up camping, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, rafting, canoeing, skiing on the Kenai. These chalets were our favorite winter get-away on the Kenai - so we bought them.
There is no comparable property on the Eastern Kenai that we've found. The location is awesomely beautiful- overlooking Trail Lake, surrounded by incredible mountains. And it's all right outside the picture windows. The chalets are constructed to take advantage of the location, and are well appointed and beautifully decorated. The hot tubs are a bonus, and the privacy means you'll have peace and quiet if you want it.
This chalet (Steller Jay) was absolutely incredible. Far beyond our expectations! Thank you for our amazing stay.
My husband and I loved our visit! We had so much fun exploring the nearby ski trails during the day and returning to the cozy chalet in the evenings for a soak in the hot tub. The house was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The views are of course fantastic; the chalet is surrounded by white capped mountains. We enjoyed watching the sun rise and the fog float over the lake. The sun filled the house with warm morning light. Gary was very informative and helpful. We would love to stay here for another winter retreat!
The Wild Rose Chalet was outstanding! It surpassed all of our expectations! My husband and I are frequent HomeAway/VRBO renters. This chalet was the nicest and cleanest place we have ever stayed. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was perfect for our family vacation. We enjoyed all of the many amenities...the chalet had everything you could think of...the kitchen was stocking with all the utensils/gadgets you would typically have in your own home - from utensils to pots/pans to tupperware, two dishwashers, a HUGE island, etc, etc! The dining room table was more than big enough to seat the whole family. The furniture was newer, clean, and comfortable. The owners were great. Always quick with responses, very kind and thorough, and generous, going above and beyond for their guests - upon our arrival were were surprised to find in the fridge they had prepared for us a creme brûlée style french toast breakfast (AMAZING! I want the recipe!)...Now, let me tell you about the view...ohhh, the view! There are no words to describe it. You ask yourself: "Is this for real???" The view was sooo beautiful enjoyed from the dining table, living room, upstairs balcony, and best yet from the hot tub! The location of the chalet was perfect. Just a short drive from Seward and 2 hours from Anchorage. We wish we would have had more time here. We will definitely rent this chalet again the next time we visit AK! Thanks for the great visit!
It is a beautiful setting, and a beautiful home, and well located to explore all of the amazing things in the area.
Seven of us vacationed in Alaska in June 2017 and stayed in this property at Moose Pass. It was one of the best VRBO properties we have stayed at. Great location to accommodate our hiking plans in the area. Well equipped kitchen for our resident chef. Perfect setting for dinner on the deck overlooking the lake. Would highly recommend this property.....

This home is absolutely perfect! It was spacious and had every amenity you could want or need. The views of the mountains and lake from inside or out are breathtaking. The deck is large with plenty of seating. We found ourselves outside as much as possible. The kitchen is fully stocked and very functional. The large island is great for prepping food or having meals. The living room is situated so you can take in the beautiful views. The beds were super comfortable (we stayed upstairs) and we loved the updated walk-in showers. We did not use the jacuzzi (just didn't have time) but it was ready for our use. The Wi-Fi worked great, as did the satellite service. They even had a collection of books, games, and puzzles for our use and enjoyment. The location is perfect, as it is a short drive (30 min or so) to Seward or Coopers Landing. We chose this home as one person in our party could not climb stairs. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs, including a ramp from the car, so accessibility was not a problem, and it was perfect for us. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. We didn't want to leave. Thank you to the owners for sharing this property! (P.S. if you're a fudge person, go visit the fudge shop. Coffee + fudge + relaxing on deck = pure heaven)! We will be back on our next trip - guaranteed!!
Beautiful chalet overlooking a lake. Close to fantastic hikes including exit glacier. Not far to Seward for nice waterfront dining. Hope to come again
