“The Giggling Gecko”

This is a guest house that is available for renting by itself or in addition to the Horseshoe Lake house. It is newly decorated as is the front house. This guest house will sleep 4. It has a full kitchen and a fenced yard which is greatfor children and pets. This property is across the street from the lake. The lake is great for fishing and just hanging out with family and friends. There is an outdoor grill for your use.

First off, the location was inaccurate. When I first looked at the property it said it was located in Memphis, TN. Then it changed to Horseshoe lake, AR, which about 45-1hr drive to Memphis, tn. Next, there was little to no cell reception and no wifi router in our residence. The renters in the main house had to help us connect to the ones they had and we only got 1 bar. Plus, the description stated there was a washer and dryer, and there wasn't. We noticed ants crawling in the bed when we'd wake up. The dishes had food stuck on them. I couldn't text or call anyone if I needed to. I'd have to walk to front yard with hopes of getting 2 bars and making a call right there. Don't get me wrong, it's a good place to stay if you're trying to get away and don't want to be disturbed. Its cute, quiet, and has other basic essentials. But it was just more of an inconvenience than anything. Recommendations: Place a good router in the guest house, tackle the ant issue, and edit the description of the property.

Get Away From It All!
The Giggling Gecko is a very nice smaller place on Horseshoe Lake Arkansas. The house sits behind a larger rental home and is in a very quiet location miles away from any distractions. Horseshoe Lake is a large "Oxbow" lake that sits in the eastern Arkansas Delta where it was once part of the Mississippi River. If you like to fish, the lake has plenty of bream, crappie, and catfish. If you want to see what the Delta is really all about, you can hike, bike, or drive along a levee on the Mississippi River (a GPS system is recommended). You will see a varied assortment of native wildlife along this route. If you need a bit of entertainment, Memphis is within easy traveling distance. Thius is a great place to catch a glimpse of life in the Delta!
